It is more of a question of securing a hobby email address and computer then saving the emails.
In my hobby email address I still have emails dating back to 2004, but I am the only one using this puter.
Too many guys use a hobby email address for everything else and leave their their browsers up on a shared computer.

To think that providers are deleting emails is foolish. Like you, I have received emails that were used two years ago, even longer by providers. Not just a few times, but many.    

We are not in total disagreement.
Just think of this. You're getting emails from a wife and that can be annoying. However, the hobbyists are at risk of a break up,  divorce, loosing a homestead, etc.  A hobbyist has much more to loose over stupidity.
If they were using hobby only email addresses, then they were sloppy with their computer and/or their passwords. I suppose some guys have to learn the hard way.

Interesting, I just rec'd an email this morning from a provider I have never seen but contacted only once (well over a year ago in Chicago) regarding her "return to the hobby specials" and then moments later a recall message and apology as it had a very long list of email addresses shown in the original.  For what it's worth I agree with Camille and that it is simply prudent that both parties delete contact info.  Personally, I find it a real turn off to receive blast emails from providers and operate under the assumption that my contact info is not kept. Obviously that is not always the case.  Now entering my third year of hobbying I am finding it increasingly risky and encountering situations that cause me pause.  Everyone please be respectful and careful with each other and their privacy.  Thanks Camille for your thoughts...
