I've been before, and I believe submissann will be there this year.  It's pretty spectacular!  San Francisco alone is well worth a trip if you've never been there.  Apart from being a beautiful city, they have a lot of great kink stores, and many more that are male-oriented (if you're like me and have a hard time finding fetish wear made for men).  It is more of a celebration of BDSM than GLBT in my opinion, and there are plenty of things for straight kinksters to do, although it does skew more heavily towards a gay demographic since we're on their "turf".  My fondest moment was noticing people in full leather, latex, bondage apparel getting on city buses several blocks away from the event, or just walking towards it from nearby hotels, and almost none of the local San Francisco population batted an eye, pointed, or reacted.  They just behaved like this was a perfectly ordinary thing.  Kind of made me feel like this was the one place in the world that you could be YOU.

That said, there seems to be a lot of cameras and videotaping, so I probably wouldn't go again without a mask of some kind, as I'm not "out" as a kinkster.  In fact, public events of any kind, even nightclubs, are starting to become problematic because of their camera policies.  Sigh!  

Its worth it, especially since its in SF where there are many similar places to explore all the time. You can leach up your girl and parade her around nude in the street. I actually watched a slave take a dump in the street like a dog. The owner did not have a baggie, which was the appalling part. But technically that's only for dog poop, I guess.
