i've been a professional submissive for a few years and i've known i was a submissive for 22 years.  Since i wasn't "owned" or i found myself between owners playing with people at clubs or i just don't like sharing my toys (i want to know they are clean and where they have been), i started creating my own bag of toys and tools years ago.

i find it odd that while Dom(me)s have a Toy Bag, more submissive's aren't creating their own bag.

Why not?

what would you include?  Your bag may not be over 50 lbs and everything must fit in standard luggage.

Thanks for the welcome.  i was directed here by a wonderful person i have played with in Boston.  Being a submissive slut, i get around.  lol.

Now about that submissive bag......

A collar.  Do you want to buy your own collar?  A collar that says, when i where this i obey.  

If you are a pro sub, it's a good idea.  Nothing like that bit of leather or metal or pvc around your neck to remind you of your place.  i bought one in leather and one in PVC to match my outfits.  Metal is heavy and my bag weighs 50 lbs, i cut the weight were i can.

But what about single submissives?  i wouldn't live my life in collar envy.  Most Pro Dom(me)s have one to put on you, that you are theirs for that time you play.  Some lifestyle players don't.  If i am single, and i'm going to a play party, i put my own on. This isn't one that was given to me when i was "owned" that lives in a drawer now.  i bought my own.  If i see someone i want to play with, i ask politely.  Having the collar on sets me in the space of serving.  that is a good thing.  Also, since i bought it myself, i bought one that is slender, because i found that when i have a wide collar on it interferes with my ability to swallow and give good oral worship.  If you are a submissive buying your own toys, buy toys/tools that serve you.

It is YOUR bag, sadists and Tops are going to delight in using your toys/tools on you.  i promise they will use them in ways you hadn't considered.  They might tease you, because after all, you bought the toy, you can't complain.  It all adds to the fun.

Your own toys will only have your blood on them, your sweat, your juices.  Yes, please do clean them.  The advantage of that cane being yours is that if you bloodied it, you don't have to put it aside for 20 days to make sure everything is dead on it.  Even though you clean it, wood canes will have traces of blood left on them.  Same for floggers, you can have someone truly flog you hard and not worry.  i feel better about my gag in my mouth.  It cuts some conversations out of your head that don't need to be there.  You need to be focused on listening and obeying.

You may find there are some gags you especially like, cuffs you like, buy them and put them in your bag.

Etiquette demands that you present your toys to your partner for consideration.  Don't be shy about your negotiating a scene.  Everyone is aware of health issues or should be.  Your play partner may find they love your toys.  You never know.

I had a chance to do a lot of play last night (both giving and receiving) with the Violet Wand.  Those kits are expensive, but that it definitely my next toy bag purchase!

I have very few toys, but what I have in my toy bag (an over-sized purse) are:

two floggers (one leather and one rubber strings),
two wooden spoons,
satin blindfold,
two velcro-type restraints (they fit around each wrist and attach to an open chair),
two very soft scarves,
satin eye mask,
duster of the odd feathery-type (but not feathers) that you usually use to clean a computer keyboard,
non-latex gloves, lubes (one for a man, one for a woman, one for anal play),
strap-on with two dongs (in case he wants me to top),
wooden hairbrush,
Purell,
moist wipes and
condoms.

i agree, in the right hands, it is a marvelous toy of pleasure and pain that can be all inclusive and all you need for a session.  the same goes for a fire play kit.

really, rubber string flogger?  i find those very stingy and grabby.

i can't put anything so grabby in my work bag.  Since a lot of my clients are new/curious/novice, they have no experience.  i have to demonstrate how to move a flogger, then let them try it out.  Sometimes the patron will get really excited and then go it like a kid in a candy store.  All the whappie stuff in my work bag is leather.  The flogger is deer skin.

In my person bag, i have deer, elk, moose, bison, i love a progressive flogging.  i beg for it.  i also have two braided floggers from Germany.

i have a nice flat brush in my personal bag.  i own different wood paddles, but again because of control issues and something hard as wood causing bruises that last more than a day, i cannot put them in my work bag.

i love the smell of leather.  i find the smell erotic, intoxicating, thus my blindfold, cuffs are leather.

i have carobiners that link together to attach to things and small bits of rope that can be attached to the carobiners.

My partner has long 3/4" wide leather strips of leather that are very versatile to tie me up to things.  i wouldn't put them in a bag to play with a new patron, but they would make a light weight and useful item in a work bag to play with a client you know well.

i was delighted when my partner used neoprene when he cuffed me, staked me out in the back yard and peed all over me.  That is a good treasure memory.

i have a couple feather dusters i got in an handcraft shop in New hope, PA.  They are terrific!   Unless specifically asked for they stay at home.  Unfortunately luggage tossed around at airports would be too much wear and tear on them if i packed them all the time.

i have a pack just for cleaning and first aid.  It includes neosporin, bactine, bandaids, alcohol, sprayer, cotton balls, tweezers, wet wipes, a few sheets of paper towel folded, hand sanitizer.

Yes, an assortment of condoms, dental dams, water based lube, oil based lube and silicone lube is a must!

and there are many cuffs that are made out of lighter material than leather.
