If you reread the first line of your post, that's the answer; there's a larger community and more acceptance here, so many of the curious vanillas and Doms can get their needs met more easily here. There are of course those who can't, but many of them are conflicted and/or shy, and balk at seeing a full-fledged sub or companion.
SF is also a very bottom-heavy town. I've found that since there's more kink on the dating scene here, marketing as vanilla (or vanilla-ish) can actually be a boon if you're looking for locals, as can being toppy/assertive/dominant (though many of those start out seeking traditional domination; this is also a town that likes its traditional kink, so that's a factor). I switch, but have noticed I receive fewer requests for pro sub sessions in SF on average than in other cities.
The combination of submissive and multihour escort would do quite well in Chicago, DC, NY, Philly, or Boston... It's partly the location. You might even try advertising in LA, if you're open to traveling.
Dual marketing can also take longer to become established; there's an impression that rather than being multitalented, one is a dabbler. It takes time to overcome that.
It also takes time to craft a blend that suits your market and your offerings, and it might just be time to experiment with different ways of weaving those things together. If you'd like to talk a little more about how that might work, feel free to drop me a note. And best of luck!
