Hopefully, I'm not alone in this sentiment, but I've long felt that there needs to be some reform with regard to TER reviews when the provider is providing erotic massage or BDSM services -- the kinds of contexts in which penetrative sex might not be offered as part of the service, nor would the hobbyist expect it (in part, because these types of sessions are not nearly as expensive as hiring an escort, either).
TER's review guidelines are as follows:
"For performance ratings, it is asked that you please save the 8, 9, and 10 ranks for situations where out of the ordinary services are provided (i.e. Blow Job - without condom, Kissing - with tongue, Anal - Yes, and Really Bi - Yes). Of course, the 10 rating should be reserved for an experience that is really worth a million!
An escort provider is only eligible to earn up to a 7, unless she is willing to perform one or some of the following during a session: Kisses With Tongue, Bare-Back Blow Job, Really Bi, and Anal Sex. For each of these services that are offered, her potential max score is raised by one point, with 10 as an absolute maximum."
I've always taken that to mean that only a provider who offers anal sex can get a "10". I personally think that system in deeply flawed for BDSM and erotic massage services, where an outstanding provider might only be able to score a maximum performance rating of "6" or "7". That doesn't seem right, and perhaps there's a way to create a sliding scale that acknowledges "out of the ordinary" service relative to what was expected.
And here's a tougher question -- should a Domme or submissive provider who offers sexual acts with her hobbyist clients be rated higher than a top-notch BDSM provider who gives that "one in a million" kink experience, but doesn't offer sex (which is the case with MOST, but not all, dominatrixes)?
What to think would be appropriate? If we can figure out something that makes sense, maybe we could propose an alternative to TER.
I really have had sessions with a limited menu that was better then most of the less limited menu sessions and did not review them because TER wouldn't accept the scores I would want to give them. So I chose not to review. Not all of us care if the lady does anal or not. I have posted on this many times in the GD bard.

This all depends on what the client wants in my opinion. If the client is really wanting sex with a BDSM touch then yes, but if the client is in it for the Kink experience then not only no but hell no.
I feel menu should have no baring on the performance scores instead it should be based solely on the experience of the client. If I as a client had a truly one in a million session I should be able to give out that ten no matter what the lady's menu was or what activities took place.
I doubt TER will change there rating system though, as for everyone that sees the flaws in the menu based scale there is just as many supporters of it.
