I attended a terrific Bordello of Decadence class last week taught by Mistress Melissa.  We had 3 volunteers become a kitty, a piggy and a puppy.  Two of these were regular players accustomed to that kind of head-space, and third one was trying it for the very first time (and did an excellent job)!  A few pointers from the class that I thought were interesting and worth passing on  . . .

- When a submissive/bottom plays like they are an animal, it puts their brains in an in-the-moment mindset.  A human might worry about work, relationships and other problems, but, when you are a dog, you just worry about making the Mistress/Master happy and being a "good boy".  It's a great way to release stress!

- Have props!  Strings, yarn, ribbons for kitties.  Newspapers, collars for dogs.

- Mistress Melissa made a point of trying to get people to be specific about their animal identities.  Example: If you are a cat, what breed are you?  Are you a kitten or a full-grown cat?  Male or female?

- She also made a really good point about nomenclature.  As a Mistress/Master/Top, study up on the animal that your submissive/bottom has identified with.  Use the animal terms for your play partner's body parts (e.g., call it a "snout" instead of a "nose").  Play with your human animal the way you would a real animal.  If cats or dogs like to be scratched in certain places, that's where you direct your rewards for good behavior.

- Depending on the scene, you might have a consensual couple having sex in their animal personas.  If you watch the Nature Channel, you might realize that's sometimes rougher in the animal kingdom.

- It's might take longer for your submission/bottom to transition out of their animal head-space, compared to other types of BDSM play.  For our demo, the "animals" were allowed to curl up and relax for a while become rejoining us as humans.

Mistress Melissa also gave a shout-out to submissann, who apparently teaches the best pony play class that she's ever seen.  (Too bad she wasn't there . . .  We could have used a pony to complete our menagerie!)

Curious to see if anyone else can add advice to this, should "newbies" be interested in trying this form of play.

Yes, it is on my list.....

i have a piggy tail, snout and i have a metal hook which lifts my nose like a pig snout (the client may choose which or none to use).  i also have a "pinking brush" (think abrasion play to redden skin).

In being your "piggy" i will squeal and snort for you.  (How many lovely ladies are willing to humiliate themselves or not take themselves "so serious" as to do this that you know?)

i will route around for things.

i will have a collar put on and be lead around. i'll be "pinked" for the faire audition.

Simply put, it is fun.

Plus,

you can make your piggy and dirty piggy if you like, wallowing in her pen filled with whatever....

a tad difficult in a hotel room or small dungeon, but possible to do some fun exploration.

A hotel room is the perfect place to explore being in and walking on those impossible to walk in "Pony Boots".  There is a whole world of extreme fetish gear a Pony can bring for you to dress them up in, tack and gear to put on.  If you like extreme bondage, latex or leather and restrictive wear fetish, this play is for you.

A trained pony has gaits they move in.  you can hold the lunge line or have your pony in "free" rein and put your pony through its gaits.  With crop in hand, make sure that high step has the thigh level to ground, the Spanish Walk is extended and elegant, etc.

Small reins can be used to guide a Pony in a small space.  Reining figure eights, circles, loops and turns gets your submissive out of thinking about themselves and into "command - obey" and submitting to you.

Fun times to explore, something different to try.

just get into the mindset, and really treat the sub/bottom like the animal in which they choose to be. Lead them around by leash and collar, pat them on the head, tug their ears and slowly give them commands and reward them if they carry out your training well..;-)

I started engaging in pony play a few years ago with some of my pets and it is a blast! I've just got to start attending some of these classes that are around. I also have a pet puppy that loves to be stroked and pet and he plays fetch and will curl up at my feet after a nice play session. There is an amazing and beautiful ethereal experience that takes place for both the sub and master in these sessions. I always advise allowing plenty of time for everyone to decompress safely afterwards. Be kind and gentle with your pets as they return from sub space it can be quite a transition.
