Even an indy can be an indentured servant.
That is the dark side...don't know how prevalent.

Hey guys
I'm def newbie to the hobby, but there is something that I wanted to ask providers and hobbyist.
How can you be sure that you are not dealing with sex traffiicking when you contact a provider?  The
last thing I want is to partake with a girl who is being coerced by violence into this.

Obviously-in that you really can't tell for sure-would be to stick with well reviewed TER gals and stay away from the younger girls in particular-but as was said-you really don't know-hopefully 10 fully armed SWAT team members won't swarm out of the bathroom while you are laying your envelope on the TV set !!  If that happens-"Katy-Bar The Door" !

true the political class thrives off showing how in tune they are.
offer a green card up for info and bingo a den of non english speaking, underage
illegles here for the american dream.

I agree. mature(over 27), well reviewed indy providers would be less likely
to be in this against their will, but you never really know.

I, too, had the same concerns, particularly with the foreign women.  My fears proved unfounded.

My first experience was with a well-reviewed indie.  We chatted on the phone for a bit when I made the date.  That helped put me at ease.  She subsequently put me in touch with her former agency and recommended a few other indies.  I would often chat with the women I saw about why they got into this, whether they were saving their money, and what there plans we're for after they retired.  You will be amazed how cool and together the ladies you meet will be.  So, stick with well reviewed providers and indies.  See who posts often on this forum.  Feel free to PM some of the regular posters for recommendations, and you'll be fine.  Also, if you show up for a date and something doesn't feel right, just turn around and leave.  I've never had to do that, but would do so if something didn't feel right.

All of the guys who responded are correct--for the most part you cannot tell but here are a few suggestions:

1. Make sure the provider is well reviewed and is receiving high marks.

2. Ask politely and discreetly on the boards.

3. Does she pick up or some guy?  Does she have her own transportation or a driver?  Will you meet at a safe location or a seedy motel?

4. Does she screen. Girls that screen (perhaps even the tougher ones) tend to be more mature and in this because they have chosen this line of work.

5. Age matters! Chose a lady over 25 or so. As one gent stated, she is more likely to be doing this because  she has chosen to.

Best of luck and happy humping!

~Indicators of Trafficking~

-Offers  incall at a hotel and under 25 years old. Most States and hotels require the registered guest to be over the age of 25.

-only board presence are the reviews from Hobbyist. No adverts on sites except BackPage and other similar sites.

-No website...most don't. Having a website could give her a sense of independence and eventually control of her own life...not gonna happen when a Gorilla pimp is involved.

~She's on in her early 20's and has a Facebook....unbelievable.!
This is a main hub for Pimps to groom and recruit females. Huge problem there!!

-No Screening or fake screening (you ain't a cop are you, etc).
Theres way more bad client's than cops. A Pimp provides security from bad clients (though it's ok for the pimp to beat her..ugh) so why screen...if something happens the Pimp is just around the corner.

Thanks for the excellent post.  I've heard that Atlanta is a hub of sex trafficking, but I've never come across even a hint of it.  Truthfully, if I thought a woman was being forced or coerced, not only would I leave, but I'd call the cops (probably anonously, but I'd still call.). I think 99% of the guys on this board would as well.  So I don't understand how it could exist, let alone thrive.  Am I just being naive?

If so, how to stop it?  I've read that the Feds are setting up task forces to combat it, and are targeting Atlanta.  I would applaud their efforts, except that I think they are going to quickly shift to legitimate providers (and their clients) when they can't find enough exploited girls.

I wrote a term paper on Atlanta being a hub for trafficking and here's what was found:

1. Atlanta has the busiest airport in the world with more connecting international flight than any other airport (Heathrow in London is the largest).

2. Atlanta also has more business travelers coming in and out of the city than any other airport in the world.  This was measured by the number of business conventions held here as well as stats regarding business class bookings as well as corporations booking travel for employees.

The above combine to make Atlanta a hub for sex trafficking.  Many of the business travelers are familiar with the availability of girls and boys in other countries and seedy types have set up a network to move children and young girls in and out of the city for sex work.  This is not a easily accessed or seen market but it is here.  NPR did a spread on it for two weeks summer of 2011.  I found one of the articles that highlights trafficking in Oakland and it links to other articles for those that are interested.

Yes, Atlanta is a target for the FED as many Latin, Asian and India girls and boys are here and are being trafficked.  These individuals are rotated on a 'circuit'--that is they are moved from state to state quickly and underground so as to not be detected.  They are heavily guarded and monitored at all times.  In my opinion, I believe a guy knows when he is seeing a trafficked individual--there are very tell-tell signs that scream TRAFFICKED.

How do we stop this?  BY LEGALIZING AND TAXING THIS BUSINESS!  This business should be regulated; it is the oldest profession in the world and is not going anywhere and Americans might as well accept this fact.  Once regulated it can be moved off the streets and the trouble makers can be the targets of cops rather that girls who are honest, discreet and drug and drama free.  Just like every dancer in Atlanta must submit to a background check and pay for a permit that is kept on file at the club and the county that she dances in the same should be true of this business.  I could go on ad nauseum but that's just the tip of the iceberg as to what I think and wrote about last term.

The product is no longer an avail product to sell again.
However, p*ussy can be sold and resold over and over and over again.
For that very reason is why many gangs are becoming more and more involved in trafficking and less with drugs.
This is a reflection of our current economy.

...participate in making it a lucrative business for Pimps.
Ones that participate/fund/enable (knowingly or unknowingly) the continued abuse and extortion have two options:
A) choose to stop by their own free will
B) let the Feds do it for them
C) there is no "C" (see above)

Feds have money and they're using it very well in my opinion.

Those that continue to ignore a problem ARE the problem and are just as guilty if not more that the Pimp himself.!

Ignorance is no excuse, ever!!

Great post! I would have to agree on your list.  Those are really good signs.  Also 'they' try and get the girls and boys hooked on drugs and keep them fearful...two other tell-tell signs.

yeah, I wonder about the Asian Massage Parlors on Piedmont Road and in other parts of the city.
I have been inside, but it is very hard to tell if those girls are trafficked.  They speak pretty good English and I don't recall seeing signs of physical abuse on them.

I guess the best advice is to stick with older and indapendent ladies.  I could argue that even these ladies are being forced into this profession not by a single individual or group, but by financial circumstances.

Dark side indeed....My guess is that an extremely high percentage of providers are NOT doing it because they want to...

If it was legalized and regulated how would the business change? Would there be more or less supply? Would prices go down or up? Would there still be "independents" that don't want to pay licensing, taxes, and maintain their privacy.
