Im a hobbyist, not a provider. and it looks like you are attempting to drag a provider through the mud who has already been cleared by the moderators. What's your beef with said provider? Declined service maybe? Doesn't wish to visit with you OTC? Would you be the guy who asked her out for drinks OTC who she had to block here?
The mods would be able to determine if there were providers or hobbyists switching out alias handles. IP's with usernames are logged.
In all likely hood, the mods cannot confirm this trick publicly. While not a direct violation of one identity, one post, the loophole poses a problem for TER.
Especially considering alias reviews are now allowed. Imagine the alias handle Vengence, posting a review of a lady, then deleting the handle after review was posted. Someone else comes along, loads handle, and post similar negative review. Under program logic, both are legitimate, but are they fair?
In some regards, this loophole violates the intent of identities on the posting board, restricting one handle per thread.even though, not technically incorrect.
The trick works, that is confirmed. Praise, not whining to the gaggle that figured it out. But now we must watch all alias handles just a little closer. I hope superbitch stays consistent.
First off...free speech is paramount. Censorship doesn't serve anyone other than who is doing the censoring.
When someone makes an initial post, there is no way to tell how the thread will progress. My crystal ball is broken this week....so I have no way of knowing how things will transpire. Once the horse has left the barn, so to speak, things take a turn all their own.
If LP, I, or any mod only allows what we want to see...then there's people screaming that we have our own agenda, play favorites, and "control" the boards. Now who wants that, really? Not the members and certainly not the mods.
What we do is allow people to show themselves for who they are. You would have to admit that this is a small community. The ATL board....and this thing of ours in general is a small group here on TER. By removing posts, all we would do is hide what happens, how people feel, and what's really going on.
The job of the moderator is to make sure that the rules are not being broken. That's all. It's not our job to control a board or who is allowed to speak on a board. Just as people have the right to speak on a board....people have the right to choose what they click on and read (unless you're a mod...we have to read all the stuff...stupid or not).
If we allow things.....people are unhappy. If we pick and choose what sees the light of day...people are unhappy. So bottom line is that we do the best we can....knowing that someone will always be unhappy. Great gig really. Just let me know when you want a shot at it....lmao.
