WHY IS EVERYONE BASHING HER???

I think all she's trying to do is give providers a heads up.  You guys are reading way too much into the whole "RACE" thing.  I for one appreciate the heads up.

Thanks to all of you Atlanta guys that helped make my visit most enjoyable! I will definitely have to make a return trip real soon

Now for the Ladies;

There is a guy who tried to stiff me while I was there. From the way that things went down, I would say that he pulls this stunt quite often. He almost got away with it, but after my doing a little investigating at his place of business.... Let's just say, he called me bright & early the next morning and shortly after, "Brought me my loot". Ladies, for more detailed info. on this guy- (Back channel me)

I am a little disturbed because this gentleman happened to be African American. As we all know, in this hobby, black men are the "minority". From time to time, an issue always comes up pertaining to servicing African American men. Usually the provider just states that she's had a bad experience and therefore refuses to see Black men all together. Up until now, I assumed that this was the race card being utilized.

Gentlemen, take this however you deem necessary, but as Black men in this hobby, every time that you see a provider, consider yourself the trailblazer. You set the stage for every Black man that follows. (If after you, he's allowed to follow) If you treat the ladies right, in most cases the rewards are ten-fold.

As a Black woman, I'm saying this because I personally, am a strong enough being, to not let this incident affect my acceptance of Black clients nor the great service that they'll be rendered. However, I do understand, why some providers (black & white) choose to not be bothered at all.

This business is hard enough sometimes. (mentally & physically) Please Don't Intentionally Violate Us!!!

In closing,

You can't keep a good woman down!

Hugs & Kisses Atlanta xoxoxoxoxoxo

Sorry to hear about the bad experience that you had in our city--it's not the type of thing the Atlanta Community likes to hear about.  Yet, I'm pretty shocked to see how you've used the race card yourself in grouping all black men with this guy you're talking about.  A little professionalism would go a long way!

In our society, doors typically swing both ways and unfortunately, the card you're using today aganist us black hobbyist is probably the very same card being used aganist YOU and prevents you from receiving 8(s) and 9(s) in your reviews.  Think before you write!

Peace

Joey

First, you were of the most professional I had ever been with. I see the person before I see their appearance. I have been taken by a few while in the business. Hate to mention race at all, but all of the ones that were not professional to me were white. All of the black guys I have seen treated me with great respect. I had to make them do it to me the way I want it which is a bit on the rough side. They were too under spoken for me. I got them to do right for me though. The few white guys that were not professional range from being disrespectful (one) and not paying (three).

To make you feel better (if possible) from reading the earlier post...

You, JoeyTheBoy, are a 10 all the way.

Sorry, but I find your post to be counter-productive and a quite rude. Sorry that the idiot tried to play games and glad you handled your business. Well done!

However, for you to post this message publicly "as a Black woman", you are not doing anything helpful. Instead, you have cast fear, uncertainty, and doubt about the acceptance of the very group of people you pretend to be helping. And then you go home and leave a little mess for someone else to clean up.

At no point should any one person's actions be considered reflective of an entire group. That is called stereotyping, with which Tonya36DD should have some negative experience.

Picture the scene tomorrow afternoon when a provider opens the door to see a new client and an African-American man walks in. Based on your message, even the most racially accepting provider has to be more nervous and concerned with your warning echoing in the back of their head. Thus the entire session has a cloud hanging over it that had absolutely nothing to do with the character or intentions of anyone involved.

Instead, your situation could have been addressed as a single incident without the stereotyping you have indicated. Now had this occured in all of the sessions you had with Black clients, then we have a problem to be addressed. However, one client does not make a trend.

Next time, take a minute to cool off and think before you write.

I have to agree with Jolie, I too have met u Joey and u are nothing but a gentleman........Like the others have posted to bring in the " race card" is not fair to other african american hobbyists that treat providers with the utmost respect......

Yes what he did to you was wrong, but come on don't compare every man for his stupdity........Just my 02

I will assume your intentions are to alert us providers about a rip off. Thanks, all the info we can get is great.

I'm going to try to put my .02 in here and see if I come close....

What I think has happened is you have come to wake up a bit about folks. I know alot of people of many races and culturs who really don't want to believe that there are crappy people even within your own race. You said yourself that you thought it was all propaganda about the "race" thing and have discovered why some say they won't see a particular group. I think I understand where you are coming from but you really didn't think it out.
Maybe you are surprised that because you are a black woman a black man would stiff you. I'm sorry it happened and to be honest it stinks no matter who does it to you. You have been a bit naive if you really believed that it wouldn't happen.

You are making a huge mistake by saying what you've said about a particular race. I too have seen Joey, and many many other men of color and cultures. Race rarely has anything to do with much. If anythiing, our cultures and our upbringing has more to do with who we are than anything else. We all bleed the same color and our hearts all beat the same way.  People are people. Be true to yourself and you'll be fine.

If you read my post clearly, you will see that I am not and will never turn my back on my African American Kings. However, I just want to bring to your attention that as the underdogs in this industry (minorities), whether you like it or not, each time that you meet with a provider, most times, fortunately or unfortunately you are setting the example. I understand that in life there are good & bad people of all different nationalities.

I've met some wonderful guys in Atlanta, some of which I wanted to bring home (smile). For the record, they are African American.

However, because there is a nation wide stigma on the reputation of the African American male pertaining to this community, I wanted to bring this to your attention. Most of you are complete gems, so if this doesn't apply to you, don't take it personal. I've been in and out of this arena for the past 10 years, & have never experienced this type of behavior. So maybe I am a little naive. This post was not intended to "diss" black men in general. To date, I only have a problem with (1).

Im sure that when most of the gentelmen of Atlata say they would like to STIFF you or Give You A Hard Time, they are not talking about the money but like me they mean it in the nicest of ways.

I should've paid you to post my message.(smile) You were head on in delivery. I was not trying to be offensive, just informative. It's not always Fair, but it's 100% true.It may not be everyones Reality, but for some, perception tends to become reality. Therefore, we have to be mindful of what's really going on.

CC-I'll take a "stiff" or "hard"time from you anyday!(smooches)

Thanks Atlanta- play "Hard", but play safe!

I understood what you were trying to say, and we all have different experiences and ranges of clientele in this biz...I for one, have a full range of different races, and happen to see a number of 'minority' races, all of which treat me very well...

I know you weren't trying to offend anyone...just take it light, and it'll be fine in the long run, I'm sure...We all have bad apples...but they are few and far between...

Regards,

Sofia

Tanya,

I, for one, managed to see your true intentions, and fully appreciated both the honesty and sorrow portrayed in your post.  Very nice job, IMO.  I also thought that Frank summed it up nicely, as is his norm.

In any case, your stock just went way up with me.  I'm sorry I didn't get to see you this trip, but perhaps our paths will cross again in either a future Chicago trip or when you return to Atlanta.

Best of luck,
atl_mgr

and do the voodoo that you do so well. Any of you ladies interested?

If by saying African American you mean a BLACK man than just say black man. My very best friend is from Africa and he wants to puke whenever blacks that were born in this country try to call themselves Afican American. I hate being PC. Sorry that happened to you but at least you got your money.

where a black person (can't remember if it was a man or woman) from a European country won a gold medal in some event that no black person had ever won before, and the NBC announcer said it was "the first African-American" gold medal winner, not even realizing the person was probably more insulted at being called an "American" then he/she would have been at being called black.

PC gets on my nerves as well.

Black Americans and/or African (Afro) American are like the black men a part of the fighting american force in Iraq.  International Blacks are not!
