off the top of my head...

Shopping.
Go to the home repair store to get furnace filters (it is that time of year).
Drop the dog off to get shots, groomed, whatever.
Go get your hair cut.
Car is making a noise, go to Auto you know who and have them do a free test.
Loose your cell phone charger and make an emergency run to get a new one.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I used black friday as an excuse many a year ago,  dropped everyone off at the mall, told them I was running over to another store to look for something.  And damn, if the traffic and parking were not just crazy.  Of course, by the time I got to the store, I missed the special and they were all sold out, so it was a wasted trip that just consumed 2 hours for nothing.

Hard part was when my son wanted to come to the same store I was using as coverage.  Ah, eh,  my SO took it as a hint that I was shopping for him, and talked him into shopping at mall with her.

Almost blew the entire storyline however,  my friend had new shower soap that was scented,  and I almost used it.  Would have been bad.

Shopping is the best excuse ever!!
