Why do some hobbyists change their TER handle? Any idea?

In the past, there have been some enlightening and entertaining discussions about how hobbyists choose their handle.

I am looking for a colorful discussion on why some feel they need to change their handle? It could be simply they are tired of it, or just no reason ... just for fun.
That said most hobbyists do not change their handle ... I have pm’ed with, read posts of, met at m&g, had lunch with many hobbyists that have retained the same handle for years anywhere between 2 - 12 years ...
Looking forward to your thoughts ... guys and ladies!

Gentleguy

Want to review under a different alias than they post under, so they can present two different people.  This hobby is all about the experience. .. the providers complain about guys lying, guys complain about providers lying (except when they say shit like how big your dick is, how many orgasms you gave them, they love older/more hairy/pick your particular affliction men, etc.... then they are telling the truth lol).  Everyone just wants to feel good.  So they have one that they praise the providers in reviews and the other where they spout off and no one knows who they are.

I guess changing their handle may be a bigger thing.  Maybe they did something they were not proud of or maybe someone discovered their posting handle and their reviewing handle.

Hell who knows why they do things, people in general are weird.  If we were all the same it would be boring though.

“Yanking someone’s chain” lol! Don’t see how it yanks anyone’s chain.
Anyway, do you have any serious thoughtful answer to this? Like ValdostaKid’s ...

If you're asking about someone specific I might be able to help or maybe even the person(s) you're talking about might help.

Asking it generally the way you did makes no sense.

Sorry you don't like the answer or you think it doesn't measure up to kid's.

Have a nice day.

I think he is asking what would motivate someone from changing his or her board persona.  Why would one post and review for a period of time as say hobbyistnipples then start posting as sdimpledong at a later time.

Could it be that someone changes their handle after returning after retiring after posting that he she would never return?

Could it be after posting or receiving an embarrassing review?

Could it be after compromising someone's personal info?

Could it be that they have a lame handle and now he she has thought of something cool to go by?

Maybe?

Thanks for the clarification... couldn’t say it any better myself.
Answers can be speculative like the ones you laid out ... or, conclusive/ factual like xyz’s answer.
Another example speculations can be:
1. Could it be that he or she is a donut and changing handle to stay engaged when other members of the board start to be suspicious?
2. Could it be that he or she is on someones’ dns list and trying to trick the list?

IMHO, No specific name or case is not necessary to carry this discussion through. But if one wants to bring it up  ... it is up to them ...

I would say both of the reasons you gave are good ones - definitely LE is the leading cause in my opinion.

Maybe XLTrojan will chime in - he is obviously not LE and is certainly not on anyone's DNS list but for some reason has chosen his handle over his former one.

Xyz123 also gave a solid outline (as usual).

Sorry ... I didn’t mean it that way ... I wrote to you in a light hearted manner.
Frankly, I, for one, find most of your posts to be of high standards and thoughtful ... in that regard measuring up to your own high standard is the challenge!  :)
I wish my OP was more clear.

...ever posting on the boards. My handle was one I used on another board. I probably posted twice maybe three times with that handle. I didn't write reviews once I actually started seeing providers. When I wanted to write my first review I asked TER about changing my handle because I didn't want those that knew my handle from the other board to make the connection. Using an alias to write reviews wasn't allowed back then. TER instructed me to submit to them three handles I would want to use. They then chose one of my choices and made it my new handle.

Off topic a bit ...
Was XYZ123 taken? Or, does 23 has a different significance ... jus curious ...

While trying to come up with the three possible handles to submit to TER I tried to think of something that was easy to say. I also wanted something with a rhythm and rhyme to it. I didn't want the usual which would have been the "xyz123". I thought xyz23 (xyztwenty-three) rolled off the tongue well and had a rhyme and rhythm that "xyz123" just didn't have. Oddly enough xyz23 was my 3rd choice though now I think it was the best of the three.

Over the years I have thought that my handle is evidence of the saying: We see what we expect to see. I say this because though my handle doesn't have a 1 in it some here have referred to me as "xyz123".

I'll stop boring you all with the story of my handle now.
xyz23 (xyztwenty-three)

This was a few years back when I was still married and somehow I got outed and my ex started asking me about that handle. It was incredibly unique and not a common word.    If you Google my old handle the first hit that came up was my reviews here. I changed it to something that if you Google I would not show up at the top of the list.

They can and TER allows it.

Is it because their current handle is Valdosta Kid?

Lol..... someone on an anonymous handle making fun of someone else's handle

...they did it just because. Without reason. Maybe even just to see something different.

I also agree with other answers posted!
