All of a sudden, when I now access erosatlanta and try to get in my browser re-directs me to a site called iquicksearch.com and says the site I am looking for is offline. Anyone else experiencing this problem??
I'm having a problem with Eros, too, but mine's a little different. I can get to the Eros page, but none of the pictures load and I can't get to the indivisual providers' pages. Is been going on 'bout a week now - I thought I had some setting in my browser screwed up (no, it's not AOL.)
Go to Windows Update. Open Internet Explorer. Select Windows Update from the Tools menu. Install ALL critical updates. You will definitely have to reboot, and you will probably have to do this several times. KEEP DOING IT UNTIL THERE ARE NO MORE CRITICAL UPDATES AVAILABLE. DO THIS EVEN IF YOU USE NETSCAPE, AOL, OR ANY OTHER BROWSER ON THE INTERNET. This is WINDOWS Update, not just Internet Explorer Update. (Some people don't understand the difference, but there is a HUGE difference.) Trust me on this one.
Open your Control Panel from the Start menu. Open Network Connections in the Control Panel. Right-click your 'Local Area Connection' and select Properties. Highlight TCP/IP and click Properties. Look at DNS. If there are specific servers listed, write down the numbers. Most but NOT all ISPs use the setting 'Obtain DNS server addresses automatically'. Choose that setting (after writing down any addresses listed under 'use the following DNS addresses'). If you lose internet after selecting 'Obtain DNS server addresses automatically', you will need to put those addresses back, but that won't be the case for most people.
Open a command prompt (Start - Run - Type cmd in the Run window). Type ipconfig/flushdns in the command prompt. You should get a message like 'DNS cache flushed successfully'.
That should get you back on Eros, but there is more work to be done. You need to buy and install a personal internet security package. Norton Internet Security is a good choice with Firewall, Antivirus, and Antispam included. You also need a popup blocker. Netscape 7 has an included popup blocker. You can install the Google toolbar if you use Internet Explorer, but do NOT install the Advanced Features. Google Toolbar - http://toolbar.google.com
