Many restaurants are giving free lunch and dinners to Veterans as a thanks.  Yes, THANKS!

When words cannot adequately describe our appreciation, a simply "Thank you" seems so inadequate. Thanks to all the veterans. Your service, sacrifice and dedication is appreciated.

Can it ever be enough?

I was lucky enough not to have to register I was too young in the 60' and 70's.  In the 80's
I voluntarily registered, but the draft was never started.  When Desert Storm began I was too old to be drafted.

While in Washington DC a few years ago for the first time I went to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It was eerily quiet for being in such a busy area. As I walked down the monument I saw flowers left behind and a few veterans tracing the names of their friends with pencil onto paper.

Then as we turned the corner to see the other side we saw a woman and her son (in uniform) she was crying and the son was fighting back his tears.  We stopped moving to give them their space.
I have never been that moved in my life. They said it was alright to walk through and we passed by we each said "Thank you" to them an they both said "No, Thank you for coming".

Thank you veterans.
