Maybe not the place but I just have to vent somewhere...

Today...

I was in Kroger getting a money order for my rent...There was a gentleman in front of me that was buying a 12 pack of beer...

He was clearly over 60 most likely 70...He didn't have his liscens with him and explained that to the young girl when she asked for his ID that he had lost it and had not had time to get a new one...

He offered her his AirFroce ID card...She refused it...Said he had to have Picture ID from the state in order to purchase alcohol...

I was stumped, angry and in disbelief...There were others around...This man was obviously humiliated as he just turned and walked away...

He was so kind and cheerful and complimenting others...Then this...Myself and 3 other people walked out of the store and an older black lady had tears in her eyes telling this young girl that this man had fought for her rights and she just showed little respect...

I understand the need for picture ID but Army ID has a picture on it I assumed that Airforce would as well as an ID to use PX privilidges...

Maybe I am wrong but this woman only had to hit the enter key that he was old enough...When do we carry the 'law' to far...

I have thought about it all day long...

Memorial Day...
I am offering a $60 discount off my reg 200 appt for Veterans...
I am thinking 60 years for the anniversary...

(Appointments for May 30 - May 31 are 140$ per hour)

Call it crazy or what ever but this is MY WORK, I am MY OWN boss and I can do anything I want with it...
Lets just say I am celebrating my FREEDOM, while saying
Thank YOU...

Couldn't agree with you more.  When I am asked for my ID, I lean over and point at my bald head.

Don't blame the cashier. She may be under strict instructions not to sell alcohol unless the purchaser provides a driver's licence.

If she were to lose her job because she broke the rule to accommodate the buyer, would you feel just as bad as you do now?

I had the same thought. The cashier may have been in a no-win situation. Not knowing the Georgia law on the matter, I hope so. That would at least explain the insaneness of the situation.

Still, it was good of Heidi to make this offer. Now, how the heck am I supposed to find my DD214 this quickly ...

;-)    How about a pillow talk story of your experiences...

I like that better than tht dd214...  ;-)

As for the law I had thought that a military id was accepted as a picture ID in any country for any situation...Actually more suitable than than a drivers liscens...

Who knows...

As for the cashier...I understand her job...What I didn't like was the attitude in which she just dismissed him...Kind words from her could have made it MUCH better...

NOW  Someone needs to play with me today...It is raining and I am in the mood...

;-)

If I had been there, I would have told the vet to wait outside and I would have bought the beer for him. That checker sounds like a "drama queen" I know!
