When you left, I know at least one hobbyiest that gave a flip. Take that back, I got emails from another couple of your biggest fans wanting to know where you were. So, that makes at least 5 that gave a flip.

When a provider announces that she is "retiring."  There is all this pomp and circumstance, two more weeks, last day to see me.   Then three months later she is back.   If you are going to retire, take down your website, stop posting on TER and don't advertise.  I just find the retirement drama rediculous.

What is even more rediculous is when a hobbiest announces he is retiring.  What are you retiring from dude?  It is a hobby, you retire from a job.

for the last few months like she's leaving planet Earth or something.

I find the retirement threads in many cases are marketing ploys. You are right. Most of them are back on their backs within a few months.

I agree with Taylor that some are business gimics. However, I'm not as cynical as Taylor. Several of the providers I have seen have retired and I truly miss them. Yes, I have replaced them with others, but they will always hold a special place in my memories and I would love to see them again, if nothing else, but to have lunch and catch up with what's happening in their lives. I don't look at a provider as merely a piece of ass. We need to enjoy each other's company to get the full experience. Maybe it's my age, maybe I'm just weird - maybe both??? Probably both. LOL

an out-of-town touring provider largely because she was on her 'retirement tour,' she was hot looking & I thought I wouldn't have another chance.  I don't believe she ever stopped providing in her home market, I just checked that board & she posted an ad yesterday, and I believe she's been here on tour at least once since.  Yeah, I had a very good time and she was very hot, but I do feel like she was later snickering behind her closed door at having roped in another guy with the retirement tour ploy.  I wasn't really pissed, maybe a little chagrinned at having been duped, and learned one more little lesson about the hobby. So I do think that some of them are just gimmicks to generate business.
