but couldn't get her to commit to a date/time. From reading her reviews, I got the impression she was never really into the hobby and was reluctantly doing it just for the money. Just my humble opinion.

Don't kid yourself, they're all in it just for the money.  The really good ones do a great job of hiding that fact but if you were to darken their door without a donation, they would turn you away quickly.

In yiour face type of ads keeps most low-key hobbyts away. Never was interested in her, ads and her web site turned me off. Just IMHO.
