Usually I send a PM to any provider that utilizes P 411, or I do like I am supposed to do and actually use the "request an appointment" (ok I rarely do that, I don't follow instructions well) I usually get an email notice that "so and so has viewed your profile" and then I get a PM confirming our appointment, It's the easiest way I have ever been screened. and 98% of the time, it's that easy.
P411 is a verification site, to house okays, it's not a screening site. It makes it easier (for both sides) in that we don't have to wait for providers to respond to our reference requests. But that's really the only true advantage. And perhaps they market to the client that they won't have to be screened - but that's not what they tell us. The folks at P411 are the first ones to tell us to screen to the level of our comfort, that P411 is not to be 'in the place of screening'. P411 recommends to us that we should check ID's at the door to ensure, at the least, that the ID is their picture and the information on the ID matches to the components of their P411 ID (which is comprised of that information). They do recommend that the client uses tape or white out or somehow otherwise covers his address. P411 requests that we report clients who refuse to show their ID and claim that it MAY BE cause for termination of that client's account.
One (very) common problem is that men have been caught sharing accounts. In fact, there was a geographical area taken down from the P411 site due to a group of men sharing accounts to systematically cause problems for providers in that area. Another issue is that if the client causes a problem that's serious, say the provider gets her ass kicked, the folks at P411 aren't going to give the provider that person's information in order for her to press charges. It's also been known that LE has used P411 to get passed screeners and make arrests/do stings. Earlier this year P411 removed additional major US cities from their site because of this sort of LE activity. Lastly, p411 has been hacked (the last time was just last year) and though they have assured us no information was afforded to the hackers, I have to assume it may happen again and information may be added or altered.
Providers request additional screening information from P411 clients deter these types of things from happening. Screening is risk management, not risk elimination, but to trust P411's services as the end all be all is not a safest way to go about it. It should also be noted that there are a growing number of providers who won't use P411 because, it seems, it's becoming common place to have to go back and forth and haggle with clients over the need for the additional information. For me, I'm the one that's BCD with the client and I'm only going to be comfortable if I'm the one that screens them

on their website, then when you give that for screening they still ask for full name, phone, employment. If you want all that crap, don't say anything about P411 !
