Without those ladies who respond to requests for references this hobby would be near impossible.  I have found that some ladies are better than others at responding to requests.  This is particularly true when I let them know that I have used them as a reference.

There are a lot of ladies who do not respond (even though they know the guy).  I am not sure why; perhaps they would like to explain.
