if you know your 'people' eat or drink in flashy expensive joints, where the purpose is to be seen, dont go there

ask the lady to suggest, she probably moves in a completely different social circle than you, and the places she likes to go or feels comfortable meeting a stranger in Will Not be the same place your office buddies, wifes friends etc will also be that evening.

i've found that room service also works, as well as pre-ordering a nice meal and bringing it with you...
but in my case, the meeting out is also a safety factor, mandatory on the first date... and in most cases i offer a couple suggestions, if you've never heard of them, theres a pretty good bet that your people havent either...
