Great comment. Exactly my thoughts and could not have said it better. I agree with you, none of the hobbysts per se, focuses on a single review and we all know that not everyone gets along with every one else. Overall average that is the key. 1 bad review out of 10, who cares, we all know what happened. I would also add:

Coverups=No Calls.

Just looked through some of the email TER staff has received. It amazing how many complaints and threats/litgation are there. Would like to get Hobbysts and providers views.

1)Does the hobbysts have the right write reviews as they feel/see?

2) Should a provider that receives a bad review from a hobbysts allowed to remove a review?

3) What is the purpose of TER reviews from a provider and hobbysts  vantage points?

4) What is the objective of the TER discussion and review boards? (Could it be an advertisement for providers and information for hobbysts as to whom to see)

Great idea!

We all need to keep in mind that we have the obligation to be honest and sincere in any reviews and posts.

Some people may not like what you say, but the truth always has a way of coming out over time. If the posts are truthful, tasteful and accurate, everything will work itself out and the credibility of the posters and TER will be maintained.

I don't think a provider should be aloud to remove a single review. I do think they could be totally removed if they desire.  Personally I don't want to see someone who has not been reviewed, and when looking through reviews I look for the one bad review the provider got.  There are times when 2 people don't click for whatever reason so a bad review from time to time is not only understandable but expected.

Understand your opinion, still like to hear from others. Many reads and few responses on the subject. Does it indicate, this is subject no one wants to touch.

Honest opinions and truth in advertising is hell of price to pay, isn't it?

I think you have a point. Too often touchy subjects are not something many want to discuss on this board but I do have to say that I agree with you wholeheartedly!

I have strong feelings in this area.  Yes, I think a hobbyist has the right to write reviews as he feels.  I personally do NOT think that a provider should have the right to have her reviews removed.  Also, it's really hard to define why the review process is so powerful and how it fits into the purpose of the site--I just think it's important to acknowledge it's role.  As moderator on the board, I'd love to see the content of the Atlanta discussion board to be very entertaining, adhere to the guidelines for posting with NO FLAMMING!

Joey;

Same here. Let us all assume this for fun and not for attacking one another. The way I see it, the providers have the right to charge whatever they want, see who ever they want. Like wise, hobbysts have the right to see who ever they want and post their opinion as they fit.

Hey, if a provider adefertises on the board, charges top dollars, and doesn't provide the service as advertised, then the customers complain.

Information rules today, the whole purpose of Public Internet. Am I  correct or completely of the wall.

Tippu,
 This is indeed a good topic and no your not off the wall. As stated before, in the end the truth will come out. The reviews help hobbysts by obtaining the needed information on a provider. This is the first step to ensuring the money spent will be worth the time and effort.
 As for the provider the reviews help to keep them on their toes. Since they do have the choice to pick and choose as well as set the amount each visit with a hobbysts they should be giving 100% of the service agreed upon.

Reviews = Customer Service

 We must all take into consideration the overall reviews and acknowledge sometimes we don't click, hence the reason some reviews are not favorable. When choosing I take that into consideration and go by the overall reviews that seem to be consistant. But NO reviews should be taken down unless the provider wants to be delisted.
