Have any of you done or thought about doing a pre-appointment facial verification with a provider using Facetime or Google Duo and want to share your thoughts?

I’m seeing it offered in more ads lately

It seems much simpler

Unless it’s some sort of trap, that would be my only concern

So is this for your comfort or hers?  Most reputable providers have various ways of screening us and typically know how we look before we arrive so I've never come across this.

But if this is for your comfort and she's willing to do it, sure why not.  Personally I won't see a provider that TOTALLY hides her face.  I got burned one time on that and never again.  If she uses angles or apps to blur parts of her face that's fine as I can still get a good idea of what she will look like.   Just my 2 cents...

I’m not with what you said about them knowing what we look like beforehand? How could they?

I've seen it promoted both ways. (1) For the potential client's benefit by verifying the provider's appearance. (2) For the provider's benefit, so she'll know the client is serious about meeting and who she should expect at her door.  I had some mild reservations about the video being recorded and potentially used for immoral purpose.

Wow Ed that's a really good point, someone could easily be recording it, like even LE

Having done a FaceTime with someone doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s safer. Think about it. If you were to be afraid that a provider is going to rob you. Does that mean you are less likely to be robbed if she does a FaceTime with you? Not necessarily.

The same rules should apply to FaceTime conversations as any other communications with providers NEVER discuss "money for sex" and your FaceTime conversation will be no more incriminating than any other communication you might have with a provider.

I play mainly in the Sugar Bowl and a LOT of POT SB's use this tool. Personally I hate FaceTime or any other kind of video calls, but I have to admit, they do have their purpose.

If you have a video of her, it would be like a surveillance camera capturing the likeness of a suspect.  My guess is most criminals would not be predisposed to committing a crime if they know they can be readily identified.
