I made the mistake of bringing Ms. Whitley Winters in my inner circle.  I trusted her and gave her an immediate client list with some of my clients.  She used me to learn about the business, then discarded me.  There will be no doubles in the future with her again, as I feel duped and stupid for helping her.  It benefited me in no way, and hurt me.  My gut told me not to give her all my knowledge for free, so I do have that at least.   I have learned a very hard lesson to never let a client talk me in to something when I feel in my gut it's not right.  I wanted her to go to an agency to learn and unfortunately I took her under my wing and it has cost me so much of my time, energy and money.

What do you mean about the lesson not to let a client talk you in to something?

I think it was one of her clients who asked her to take on this “apprentice”. Apparently it didn’t work out very well.

I was talked in to helping her by a client.  I said, no that it was not in my best interest.  He had me visit his home on several occasions with her there.  All the red flags were there, but she was good.  She reflected back to me everything I was looking for in a friend.  I let her in my life .  She admired my abilities and achievements and that's what she wanted.  I would soon find that she did not respect me.  I will not disclose the client, but he was also taken advantage of by being a very recent widower & cancer survivor.  He may or may not realize it yet, or it doesn't bother him yet if the mask has slipped with him.  I will not disclose her website, because I do not want her to profit off my name anymore.

That is for sure tough Maddie. I do recall your posting earlier this year as how excited you were of bringing someone under your wings. WW is a disappointment and you have lot more to offer.  

No one deserves dishonsety of that magnitude, especially when you are just trying to help someone.  I sent you another PM.

I believe she's expressing the fact she TOFTT emotionally on the provider side, much as we clients would TOFTT financially on our side. Her cautionary tale to other providers is "I have learned a very hard lesson to never let a client talk me in to something when I feel in my gut it's not right."

I think we All understood and were supporting her.  But thank you for summarizing!!

She cost me weeks of my time. That is worth money. I brought her in and gave her a client list that I’ve worked years on building. That is worth a lot of money to not have to learn the screening, advertising. I don’t want another provider to fall in this trap of giving and her taking without her going to an agency and learning the business and building her own client base  And there is a whole other dynamic of my anonymity compromised that I won’t get in to here. She cost me a hell of a lot of time money and energy. Like I said. Maddie

You did quite few dubs with her I know.  You both were a lot of fun.   Maybe she decided this was not for her . I’d probably just let it go

Sorry for the late response but I'm sorry this happened to you. Her website is a low rent, bargain basement affair that is a pretty good indication of the person she actually is. You're better off without her dragging you down. Stay safe and strong.
