100% Agree.  Nothing is worth that level of exposure.

OK, so maybe it's just me, but I draw the line at giving a copy of a DL out as part of a screening process. I have no problem showing it, but a copy.... on file... forever?

Here's my issue; what happens if the provider's laptop is stolen, she gets busted, she's not a great person after all... there's really only one way to get a copy of a DL and that's if someone willingly gave it to you.

Plus, it would be easy to steal someone's identity and create fake docs using that person's DL. Just not worth it.

Aren't there other ways to verify identity than to make a copy of a DL and send it to someone to keep on file? Anyone agree with me that sending out a scanned copy of a DL is sort of crazy in today's climate?

has a provider asked for me to hand over my DL for a look-see. Wasn’t gonna happen. The encounter ended about 3 minutes later with her robbing me.

I’ve never seen a client that doesn’t pass my verification process which requires he sends me a pic of his ID. I literally always delete them right after I look. I would never take the chance of waiting till we’re in person then I’ll check it out. I really hope that’s not what you guys mean because that’s not just logical. Like you guys do realize we have way more to loose than you? I promise you no reputable girl is trying to steal your information from DL. I don’t know any girl who doesn’t require that in her screaming process unless you have references that check out. Like and maybe I’m misunderstanding because the way I’m comprehending it i don’t see the common sense appeal. So unless you have references what else would work as legit verification so ensure our safety. You guys worry about unlikely situations like a provider caring enough to keep a history of your ID’s. Most I know delete them once they’ve been checked. But your fear of your identity being stolen is so irrational compared to taking a risk and meeting complete strangers you don’t know or what they look like and inviting them to your private home/Incall or heading to theirs and they already know what you look like, had the chance to do research on you and have an idea what to expect. It also just makes you look shady, like in my opinion and from my experience any decent man understands and know that if you’re coming to meet me I’m a discreet professional enough to be trusted to not be reckless with your identity. Like please tell me the women you’re seeing without being screened so I can pray for them.

What does seeing the id ahead of time accomplish? I have never seen an id that stated "cop, rappist or murderer" on it. I would think that if a guy gives you his real name and other information and you can't verify him, that seeing his id is not going to help you out. Please understand that I know you are at more risk than the guys. I just don't get what seeing the id ahead of time helps.

So what if you do have references?  And White Lists on TER.  Still a need to see the DL?

reputable providers that most clients are concerned about.

Once I have satisfactorily determined a provider is reputable I don’t have a problem showing an ID in person. But I’d never send an unfiltered image of my DL to a provider I’ve never met in person. If that’s the only way a potential client has to satisfy a provider’s screening and the candidate is okay doing it then more power to her/him. I opt for verification through a third party service that includes an option to contact references.

OTOH, I recommend all providers and clients do what works for them to feel safe. I would never complain that a provider would refuse to meet with me if I was unwilling to meet her screening protocol.

Oh wait, it was a "Well reviewed TER provider" actually several of them that splashed my info all over the internet, not because I cheated them, harmed them in any way, or even met any of them in person. They did it because they don't like what I have to say right here on TER.

Guys, you are free to do as you wish, but if you have anything to lose if you are ever "outed" I would be VERY careful with whom you give your "blackmail material" to.

BTW I am hardly the only guy ever outed by a BSC hooker, just one of the few that didn't go crawling into a hole after it happened, with his life in ruins, his marriage in tatters and his job in jeopardy.

I can certainly understand the need for caution on a providers side, no problem there. But what do you really get from a DL anyway? And let's say you are on the up and up--what if another provider isn't, and is looking to steal or blackmail a hobbyist? They now have the keys to the kingdom.

There are so many other ways to screen, why does this one--which compromises the hobbyists safety--have to be one of them? You can check email, LinkedIn, Facebook, TER references, P411, The Whitelist, phone numbers, other providers... the list goes on.

I guess I could put it to you this way; I'll see you this week, but first, I need to see your driver's license-- with your real name, address, birth date, DL #, etc. Needless to say, you would never do that, and that's understandable. Same for us; some of us just can't take the risk--especially after Dunwoody--that a provider will always delete that information.

I wouldn't give any of that info either.  Provider refs are all I use.  If they are not enough, I politely move on.

Seems that I remember some certain former agencies around a year ago that promised that they too destroyed all client information. How'd that work out?
Too many reputable providers willing to see clients with alternate screening information without having to see their drivers license, urine test or a note from their momma. Think I'll just stick with them instead.

I send ID if asked, but only for XXX super high end providers. I also redact everything except my DOB and I password protect the file sent.

I do find it funny that providers want to be unknown or "discreet" but dont expect the same from hobbyist. Typically, hobbyist have more to lose, family, wealth, job, reputation etc but the providers hold the key to our identity.

I suggest you find a couple trusted providers and become regulars, get grandfathered and ride it out til you get tired.

There is a woman on a site that tells you where you can get a Massage Anywhere.  She then ghosted on me.  I never had any problems with stolen identity, but that's the last time I will provide that information.

Her name is listed as Rebecca.

Wow - in encounters with well over 100 providers I have never even had one ask to see my DL - let alone copy it. And since I hobby as my alter ego I have always used an alias for all my hobby transactions, so my DL wouldn't match anyhow. I have found that between P-411 and TER (and really good behavior on my alter ego's part) that screening and ID have not been an issue. I once had a lady ask me to txt her a picture of my junk - even if she posted the pic online I doubt my significant other would recognize me.....

Your alter ego? Are you a preacher?

Personally, I would never even use a DL as a screening test. I prefer using references, linkedin, etc.

Nothing is ever completely delete-able once you sent it
over the Internet and most everything you send in some form or another is via Internet ...
A lot of providers may legitimately take comfort in that they delete everything ... but that’s - unknown to many - a false premise to start with!

If your computer or cell phone or similar device is taken... anyone with appropriate IT capability can get all the info deleted or not!

That said, there is a level of risk both parties have to accept to play! Bottom line though: if you want something to remain truly protected you cannot put it on the Internet.

Absolutely right; LE can always put a forensics tech on a computer and get even the most deleted info if they want. I once saw a show that demonstrated how info could be taken from a damaged hard drive that someone had hammered on after they had deleted files. They still got what they were looking for.

An email or discussion between two people is just that; a discussion. But a drivers license on file is much more incriminating.

A DL is one of the primary keys to the kingdom in regards to identity. I just did my taxes and that was the way they verified my true identity. If a DL falls into someone else's hands and is sold, you can bet your (soon to be) bottom dollar it will be sold to someone to will try to file a fake return, effectively steal your identity, or worse, blackmail you.

Some things are just not worth the risk.
