Just curious if anyone is doing anything really cool on New Years Eve? I will probably be staying home being bored. Will have to live vicariously through others. Lol. Plus the board is really slow today.

My home town's possum drop. They drop a dead, stuffed possum in a steel cage at midnight. It is always a sight to see

Possum Drops seem to be very popular for News Year.  I will be attending the drop in Brasstown NC.  Two years ago they switched to a stuffed possum toy.....kinda lost the effect.

Will be watching peach drop with my family!

...For the first time in my life. Atl has many amazing things to do and the weather looks promising.

Up here in the mountains - we lower a steel cage too... but upon hitting the ground at 5 minutes til midnight, a latch springs open to release a live Raccoon.
Once we finish Old Anxiety (our local version of the same tune) just after Midnight, we then commence with the traditional New Year's Coon Hunt which surpasses even Doe Days as "the most wonderful time (to hunt) of the year".

It's a strictly BYOB - Bring Your Own Blueticks - affair.

Elvis is the best-est bluetick in the county - the King of the New Year's Coon Hunt!
That dog has a voice that sounds like a foghorn on a foggy night, which you might imagine makes him easier to find on a lot of nights.
