What's a "grid girl"?   You use all kinds of names for girls that I don't understand.

Thanks

Not looking to get flamed, just curious about something.

I understand some women and men don't like Short women and men, but my opinion is that if you're 5 foot even, you really shouldn't be wearing platform stilettos to try to be on par with a 5'10" person.

Some women at Petit Le Mans this past Saturday looked way too uncomfortable in thigh high boots and such... trying to be something much taller than they are. Yes, they were FALKEN tire girls, PATRON girls and other 'grid girl' types - you know, the cheerleader type of physical beauty - but I felt pity more than arousal, as watching the grimaces on their faces over-power any other sexiness on display.

For me, 1-2" is okay, that's a work boot. When you reach for 6"+ footwear, well that just looks silly to me. Maybe these high heels were just out of place on the track, but women are sexiest when comfortable and confident.  With the trend toward taller and taller footwear, I've started to wonder when grid girls will start wearing "werewolf stilts".

Then again, those stilts are actually comfortable as I've worn them myself playing a Satyr, not a grid girl. Maybe I should just recommend those instead, but "there's a time and place"... lol

Seeing nothing wrong with women of various lengths,
Kosh

And I'm only 5'3. I do it cause they are sexy. I really don't like short heels. I have a large shoe collection and they all must be of a certain height. Not everyone that wears them are uncomfortable in them. I could run a marathon in mine:-) practice makes perfect ;-)

Some stilletos have a platform so you are actually only walking on a couple of inches, The platform gives the illusion that they are REALLY high heels. Thats the ones I like as I am only 5'3" myself
They are very comfy! THOSE are the "F" me pumps for me ;)
Hugs and kisses

I think it makes a lady look irresistible!  I especially like it when she keeps the stilletos on during the activities.  If you are a heals guy,  the visual is amazing!!  Why is this less common?

Terrillyn....had to laufh at the pump reference.

First time I ever heard that...lady friend of mine (I was like 25--she was 50)--hung out withk...called them "Come "F" me Shoes"----

I miss here (she got married oh well).

I am 5'4" and when I am not rushing between classes I wear stilettos a great deal of the time and mine are comfortable.  I think women who wear too tight or too small stilettos are paying a high price for beauty.  A well shopped for shoe does not have to be uncomfortable.

They lengthen the silhouette and the look of the leg. They give the calves a certain sexiness and as Misty said: practice makes perfect!  Stilettos are not to "fool" anyone about height or to be on par with someone 5'10" for 90% of us.  It's about feeling sexy and looking sexy also.  I am very comfortable with my height and for most men, a woman in high heels doesn't fool him regarding her height but it certainly might spark his imagination regarding her in the bedroom!

Rockin' my stilettos,

Alexandria Fox

I've never thought once, let me put my stiletto's on so I can be taller. lol I like to do gymnastics, ballet, and @#$% in mine too! lol But then again, I've been wearing mine since 17.

I hate high heels, and don't understand them. I would rather see a lady in barfeet, flip flops, sandals, athletic shoes, flat dress shoes, or boots with low heels. Nothing sexy about high heels to me, and they also look uncomfortable and silly. The sillyest thing to me is swimsuits and high heels, as perpetuated by the Miss America type contests and all types of model shows. Swim suits are for the beach. At the beach you are barefoot. So why all the model shoots. and runway walks and car models etc, with swimsuits and high heels.

Like I said I am probably in a minority, but that's my rant.

The primary reason for high heels is simply that they reshape the legs - unless I'm mistaken they narrow the ankle and bunch the calf, and also tuck the buns.  They also make a longer leg line - same reason models point their toes in photos.  I like the girls with or without, but the shape is definitely different.  In slacks also, they produce a longer leg line.  Ain't just girls either - guys wore stack heels with the bell bottoms back in the disco days - check out John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.

Are hot as hell and only enhance the beauty of the lady sexy enough to wear them.
For years I worked for a company that made them for Fredrick's Of Hollywood! Was really hot time working with the Models!!!

There were some really hottttt ladies at the Petite Lemans this past weekend.  The grid girls were hottt, many of the teams merchandise girls were also.  But then, did you see some of the drivers and owners arm candy, wooo weee.

Yeah Jimmy, the grid girls, the "pit lizards" (i.e., hard core racing groupies), ...hell, just the fans there... Sportscar racing seems so much better looking than other forms of motorsport (not naming names).

And yes, for all her attributes, Ashley Judd (Mrs. Dario Franchitti, the IRL champ who driving the 055 car) was 'average' compared to many of the other drivers' WAGS.

Very nice weekend indeed.
