Providers wanting references

This may be a stupid post and has no relevance to current topics on the board but I need to get if off my chest.  Let me say, I have no problem giving references to known providers, we are suppose to watch out for each other and be helpful.  I guess what irritates me lately about some providers is the lack of manners.  If I am going to take time out of my day to give you a needed reference then at least be polite enough to say "Thankyou".  I have even had one provider email me and ask for a "PROMPT" reply.  I have given her refs in the past with no acknoweledgement or even a thankyou afterwards and now you want a "PROMPT" reply!?  .Seems some of us do all the leg work and others don't appreciate it.  Ok I'm done.
Be safe everyone!!  Terri

You have a right to be irked.

These providers (and us guys) should acknowledge and appreciate this kind of support. Make your own list of unappreciative people, and explain when someone asks you for a ref.  I would understand.

You are a benchmark for professionalism, attitude and performance.  I think most of the community would support you.

WTF is this "PROMPT" response crap!?  That will get NO response from me.  I give refs also but from now on if they are just plain rude sounding forget it.

Guys....let us know if you want a ref for a lady...so if I get an email from an unknown person I know it is safe to write!

I rarely do last min appts so please don't rely on my "prompt" response....I may not be checking my email but once that day! :)

Raven makes a excellent point that I think the guys and lady's don't consider. Guys, if you are going to ask a lady to give you a reference:

1) Make sure she knows its coming and from who so that she can get the information to the correct person and not delay your potential meeting.

2) Make sure you give all parties enough heads up time ti respond.

3) Make sure the lady KNOWS who you are and you conducted yourself is such a manner that she has no problem giving you a reference.

For the lady's I would strongly suggest that you not give out a reference, EVEN if you know the provider asking for it, unless the guys gives you a heads up.

I know this is rare but I know of a situation where a guy's S.O. assumed the personna of a provider to try to check up on her man. This is not that hard to do especially with many lady's having free web based e-mail. All she did was create an account id as a known provider name under hotmail and then went fishing. Now to the guys fault in all this, he left a electronic paper / cookie trail that was easy for her to bust him LOL.

I always try to say thank you for the provider who takes the time to call or email me back.  If I have forgotten anyone, Thank You!!!!!  I always try to let them know when the gent wants to see me, as some gentlemen wait until the last minute to tell you who they have seen...I don't mind any provider calling or emailing me for a reference; since I know how frustrating it can be when you don't get a response, and cannot see a gent because of that....Great thread, Teri!!!

Terri, I know where you're coming from ... and once again, thanks for your help ... As I've always said, I don't mind giving anyone refs or sharing info with someone who's appreciative and would do the same for me ... I don't care if one of my regulars wants to see one of my girlfriends if I'm taking a day off ...

BUT ... I HATE it when I want a day off with some peace and quiet, and then I check my voice mail at 10 p.m., and there's more than one message from a provider, angry that I didn't return her reference call within 20 minutes ... like it's MY fault her appt fell thru ...

I think we should all try and be more professional about this whole biz and realize we're all doing the same thing, trying to make $$, and there's more than enough biz to go around. So why get territorial, or pissed if a same-day appt. falls thru b/c some provider doesn't call you back within 30 minutes. If a guy wants to see you, he can wait.

You are absolutely correct!  I am indebted to you...

Terri, it is such a relief to realize there are some really "with-it," together women is this arena who actually pay attention and have a fully functioning brain/memory.

After I make good on my promise, can we "walk the doggie" to make amends since my obligation to you is in arrears, so to speak....  *wink*

i'll be calling...   ;-)
