I will start with a band founded in Athens, Ga.  There is alot of awesome artists that are founded in Georgia.  What is your choice?

I saw them perform at Kennesaw College.  They also performed at parties for an apartment complex off of Powers Ferry.  I'm winking at anybody that went to those parties.

And they still kick ass!! Baby Jean can still bring it.

This isn't a band but he's from Marietta.

was waiting for someone to mention Travis Tritt, Trisha Yearwood, or Alan Jackson.

but damn sure should be if you like the jamming type of bands.

Mudcat, plays at Northside Tavern.

Saw his band at the Atlanta History Society recently, funny as hell.

Also saw Francine Reed the same night, she rocks (blues that is!).

GT

I saw Mudcat for the first time at that same performance and thought they were fantastic.

Great recommendation.

This year I saw him at The Tabernackcle .

Geez.  Not fair.

Back in the 70s I was a recording engineer for a studio in Doraville known as Studio One.  Owned by the Atlanta Rhythm Section and Buddy Buie and company.

I did work for Mothers Finest - gawd Joyce K could SING! - ARS, Dixie Dregs, Mylon LeFebvre, Alvin Lee, Kansas, and even was majorly involved on the Stillwater album. (Mindbender - created / duplicated the sound effect that was made famous by Peter Frampton at the time.)

And yeah, I worked with several of Phil Walden's guys out of Macon including various Allman Bros entities and spinoffs.

Wow.  Old times.

but damn sure should be if you like jamming type of music.
