November 10, 1775. Now that's a real birthday.  

I also accept and recognize July 11, 1798, since that was the date my beloved USMC was resurrected under our US Constitution.

Yep, in my family we were taught that the Marine Corps Hymn was originally a lullaby to help babies feel safe enough to sleep at night - knowing they were protected by Marines. Works better than a charm.
