Physiology question for the ladies

So this may go down as "dumb-ass question of the week" and possibly is a bit crass - and i am sure i will get flamed for it - but here goes.

I've noticed  an interesting phenomenon amongst the ladies ive been seeing and have been pondering it in idle moments.  It seems that about 3 out of 4 of ladies do it.

When we are together and about to "walk the dog", the lady will inevitably lick her fingers and rub her clit and pussy before we start.

I assume that this action releases some natural lubrication, but here are my questions

1 - Why lick your fingers? is this just for external lubrication?
2 - Why just doggie? ive noticed ladies are not doing this as often if we start elsewhere

Fumbling and probing? Yeah, that's probably part of the problem.

Maybe do less of that?  
I've never licked my fingers and then my pussy before having sex in any position.. but if I was being fumbled and probed I imagine I would. It probably helps with the chaffing.

Not a lady, BUT I have heard enough complaints from hookers to know answer number one

The ladies do it because they need more moisture.  

1. Yes, it's for lubrication. Dry rubbing doesn't feel good.
2. Lubrication + making sure you're "on target". Dry doesn't feel good.
3. No, it's not enough, OR you aren't as good as you hope OR she is a lady who just needs some extra moisture even with a skilled lover. Dry doesn't feel good.
4. Ladies who aren't already wet enough or those who want to stimulate themselves may do it because.... Dry rubbing doesn't feel good.

Notice a common theme? It really is just that simple. Wetter is better. ;)

We're all different.

Every woman is different just like every man is different.  We all have different techniques, desires and get warmed up at different levels and speeds.  We are not all turned on by the same thing.

I asked my ATF same question.....
