With just a few exceptions seems like the forum is becoming much more skewed to a place for photo themes (thank you ladies, I honestly do appreciate them) and guys placing ads that they are available and/or wanting suggestions.

So, since I hate feeling left out of new trends – I ask the following.  Looking for a lady, one who will rock my world.  No sense in stating what type of lady piques my interest, they all do, as long as they are not made of plastic.  And no sense in me doing any research since everyone here all will know far better what I like than I do.  And don’t worry that I don’t have any reviews or that you may not know me – I am a nice guy if that matters.

I am available early evenings during the week.  Bonus opportunity exists as I can also do lunch times for the lucky geographically-right located lady; so please be sure to tell me where you host.   Interested ladies can PM me with their best offers, even though I posted with an alias.  Otherwise, ladies - just post here with your interest.

I’d add that I am interested in an hour meeting, of which at least 50-55 minutes will be spent in conversation, but that would probably be TMI.

I know TER has stated it wants a more welcoming forum to attract newbies to its forum, but geesh - not sure that means they wanted to turn this place into a Hobbying Visitor Center.  Just venting and sarcasm was intended in this attempt to make a point.  Thank you for indulging me.  But on the other hand –if there really are any ladies interested…..  I do think I need to get out more.

Personally, I feel the TER forums' conversations are much more hobby-oriented and much less drama-filled after the recent changes to TER (restrict number of aliases allowed, remove volunteer forum mods, rotate TER hosts & hostesses, addition of "report post" functionality, etc.).

The civil discourse and friendly banter are indicative that the changes to TER were the right ones to make and sorely needed.

You may have a point.  I recall just a few months ago we had this one poster that burned so many bridges that I suspect most would just as soon ignore his posts nowadays as to engage in the civil discourse you noted.  He seemed hell bent on driving his post count up through insufferably boorish posts whilst using the most derogatory terms possible in reference to this board and its participants.  Sure am glad we have the report post functionality if that hypocritical troll ever shows back up.  (Just wish I could remember his handle.)

The ignore this poster function.  The report this post is a lame attempt to self moderate the boards which is dangerous again. The others I feel were knee jerk reactions to a handful of cry babies that didn't like the way this board specifically was being moderated.  Rather than communicate and make the necessary changes to correct the mods they admin threw the baby out with the bath water. IMHO.
There is no question that Atlanta is the toughest crowd to handle from all the other TER boards But if you look through all the other local community boards the post activity is down from 50 to 75% across the board.  Maybe that is what the powers to be want since board activity doesn't pay the bills. Paid VIP membership does. Credible reviews are the backbone of this board or used to be.
I remember a time here in this communithy that there was a sense of community. Everyone for the most part got along, looked out for each other and partied hard together. Serious lasting friendships were made. This didn't happen by accident, it was because there were watchdogs (mods) in place to keep out the unwanted trouble makers.  When trouble makers are allowed to participate and gain a "voice" then this is what you end up with.
Some like it and think the changes are for the best.  Others would love to see the return of the sense of community.  Under the present structure that will never happen.
Old habits are hard to break so we continue to come here and participate until something better comes along.
