I booked an appointment on 12/20/2010 at 2:57pm for a same day appt at 5:30pm. The well-reviewed provider (30 ter reviews), who advertises on Eros and cityvibe and has her own website, asked me to call and confirm at 5:00. I called at 4:58 and left a message to confirm and I asked her to call me back to let me know she got the message. No response. I called and left a message at 5:25 to let her know I had arrived. No response. I called and left messages at 5:41 and 6:01. At 6:01 I even apologized if I got mixed up on the appt time. No response. I left and got back on the interstate to go elsewhere. She called me back at 6:10; said she never got my confirmation message at 4:58; and she made other plans. She then asked if I was going to come see her. No apology. I said no. My question is this - how long is a client expected to wait on a no show (late show in this case) before leaving?
To say, "how long should I wait", is really an individual decision normally based on how important it is to you to see whomever it is. Personally, I have at times stood in the checkout line for over thirty minutes because it was important to me to purchase the things in my basket. Then on other occasions, I've left a full buggy of items and walked out after only ten minutes because I decided my time was more important than waiting in line.
Personally, in the example you gave, I don't buy it for one minute that she didn't get the voicemail you left. And I also don't buy it that if you really didn't get it that she wouldn't have dialed your number to see if you were nearby. I think she just didn't really value your visit and blew you off.
