OK, Terri's originally thread was about whether you should talk at all, and Aliados and I got off on a tangent on "If you ARE going to talk, what should you NOT talk about", and Raven suggested I should have started a new thread. I think she's right, so here goes.
I'm going to start one branch by reposting my initial list of things the lady shouldn't talk about. Guys: reply to that one and fill in any more you can think of. There seems to have been several ladies asking for help lately on how to do things better, so we should help them out.
Raven (or another of you ladies) should start another branch with things you would prefer the guys NOT talk about, or as Raven put it "questions they shouldn't ask".
Aliados, I'm surprised. You've left out some of the classic "NOT to talk about in a session" topics. (BTW, thanks for bringing this up Teri. Based on some recent conversations with other guys, I was thinking about starting a thread like this anyway.)
1. Boyfriend, husband, or significant other As a paying customer, the last thing a guy wants to hear about is the person (or persons) "getting it for free". We appreciate that you are real people, with real lives, and we even care about you (sometimes alot) and wish you well in life, but most guys really don't want to hear that the guy you choose to spend all your free time with is treating you badly.
2. Your "real job", or "hassles with the boss" if you work for an agency. If we wanted to hear a woman bitch about work, we'd stay home with the wives or girlfriends.
3. Other clients You might be really thrilled that you got to bang some star athlete or well-hung guy, but nothing creates performance anxiety like the comment "good thing you were late getting here, that last guy really wore me out and I needed the extra rest."
4. Your reproductive state Unless you're going to come out and advertise as a pregnant provider for those folks with that particular fetish, if you don't admit being pregnant at the time the appt is made, keep it too yourself. TOO MUCH INFORMATION
