"A man is only as old as the woman he feels" - Groucho Marx
"None are so old as those who have outlived enthusiasm." - Henry David Thoreau
"A man growing old eventually becomes a child again." - Sophocles
"Maturity is achieved when a person postpones immediate pleasures for long-term values." - Joshua L. Liebman
and because MAN OF STEEL comes out his weekend:
"What makes Superman a hero is not that he has power, but that he has the wisdom and the maturity to use the power wisely. From an acting point of view, that's how I approached the part." - Christopher Reeve
what's my point? Maturity is relative. Sometimes I'm mature but face it:
Most of us here don't wanna grow up... we're Toys R Us/TER kids! There's lots of folks at TER that we can play with! From Dykes & Dames to Bandage Dames... you get the point.

First off, maturity is what happens to OTHER people as they get older. Secondly, I am well over fifty and have no intentions of ever being mature, so they can take that 43 year old number and stick it. lol
and yes JB, I too believe that maturity is definitely overrated. Next thing you know people will want me to start seeing "age appropriate" women, Not a fucking chance!!!
There are some ways I wish I was more mature, and others I am glad to still view as a child. It's what allows your life to have different facets, without being redundant. Who wants to get old, and realize they are going to die one day? Immature ways and views are simply a defense mechanism. Look at half the 50 and 60 year old guys who post on TER...most sound like they are under 18
Article seems to be quite biased imo. What about a lady's affinity for stuffed animals, her fav cuddle blanket, or fixation on chocolate bunny ears? For those that do not want to check out the link, I pasted the criteria used by this "British" study to define maturity. Personally, I think #9 is not only mature, but the only real option for guys. Not sure if #17 makes me mature or just clueless since the only trainers I know are ones that I hope to avoid needing for a long, long time.

I was on my own at 17 two kids at 19, Matured my ass up fast.Lol
What's your point?
I am still anything but mature, and I plan on staying that way. lol
But I will concede that having kids will force you to be mature, no such issues here. Even well into my fifties, I still look at things from the child's perspective, not the parent's.
Gross generalization and completely ludicrous. Where was the survey conducted? How was it conducted? What is the control subject?
-- Modified on 6/12/2013 9:55:47 AM
British survey. General randomized interview questions, and does not appear to have a control group. And ludicrous is the new norm for most of these "internet research" stories where the goal is to get people tweeting and talking about them moreso than providing quality, scientific data. Kinda like some of the survey questions in TER discussion groups.
everyone isn't the same
women burp and fart just liked men. Some even better... You Rock Chicas!
does that make me mature?
I do burp, fart, and ocassionally play video games, but I much prefer to play with Chicas. lol

and many people emotionally feel not in "tune" with their physical age. Who cares, as long as everyone's happy
