Hockey fans know that Pittsburgh has been doing well this year, both winning games and scoring good players in trades. The Pens acquired the team Captains of Dallas and Calgary - Brendan Morrow and Jarome Iginla, respectively - last week. This meant that Sunday's game had a Captain on every line (before Crosby got hurt - different story).

How good is Pittsburgh? Until last night, they had won 15 straight games. They making a strong playoff run, need all the talent they can get.
How bad is Philly? They have won 15 games - this season. They might not make the playoffs and need to get rid of expensive players for draft pics.

The Joke:
I texted a Flyers fan friend with a 'shared tweet'  allegedly from Pens General Manager Ray Shero.  

"This year the Pens are collecting Captains, so I'm pleased to announce a trade bringing Philly C Claude Giroux to Pittsburgh in exchange for two Fourth Round draft picks" (I know, more than 140 twitter characters, but I don't post text/twitter speak).

Friend was furious. His wife said he was so 'crying mad that he looked for 10 mins for that story' before called me on the phone to tell me 'in person' that I'm.... a jerk (can't type his exact words here).

Payback will be Hell. But worth it.
