Since this Covid thing came down almost a year ago.....I have limited my activity to gals I've known a long time and observe all the Covid conditions outside of the contact with my gal.....I usually have or have had a cold by now...but I think all the outside stuff with distancing, masks, hand washing, etc...has served me well! There are a couple scenarios I would like to indulge in as I have a major Birthday celebration coming up in February.....but I will likely postpone what I had originally planned !!!
I will get vaccinated, and still practice some of the safeguards during cold/flu season. Otherwise I will get back into things and book some time with a few old friends.
A guy in his early 50's who I used to work with just died of it. He is not one of the people I would have thought was in any kind of a high risk group. This Covid-shit is like Russian Roulette; maybe you get it and not much happens, but maybe you get it and you die of suffocation. Step right up and spin the wheel!
All I know is that he likely didn't think he was at risk and... he's gone now.
I got through 2020 unharmed. It's a mix of yes I made sure to be careful but still feel lucky as far as Corona goes. Still STD-free . Corona related a handful of friends & co-workers varying in ages of 25-60 got sick, quite a few friends & family of those friends got sick and many died. One particular friend and the vast majority of her small-ish family got sick.....11 out of 15 plus her boyfriend. 6 died (most of them (not all) were anti-maskers). And 4 of them happened basically back to back....imagine 4 funerals within 10 days. I'm taking basically the same amount of caution into this year as I did in 2020...I would like to think my most immediate family (and myself) will be just fine.
I'm so thankful to be scheduled for my vaccine next week, and two weeks afterwards for the 2nd dosage. However, I still plan to maintain reasonable cautions even after inoculation. There is still so much unknown so it pays to use common sense and good judgement. I don't think things will ever be the same as they were again, we will adjust to a new normal as a result of 2020. Just my perspective.

I got my first round of the covid vaccine today. It was so very easy, simple, and painless, absolutely zero side effects thus far. Looking forward to my 2nd dosage.
I've seen it kill some what healthy people. I've seen a few people who have been pretty much practicing quarantine regimen as myself. But with immune system tanked from chemo and radiation. After this last known death of my friends aunt.. I will not being seeing anyone else until after I get the vaccine. So once Ga goes to the next phase I will be at my oncologist getting my 1st one. Please be safe.
