One (of many things) I've yet to figure out is.....

Why do people jump up and give information or suggestions to aliases or unknowns?

Surely we do remember that this thing we do isn't exactly embraced by the public or even allowed by law. Yet, on a regular basis, any swinging dick with no reviews (credibility)or even just posting as an alias, gets people jumping out of their seat to point them in a certain direction.

I've always been intrigued as to not only what happens in the world....but *why* it happens.
So I'm curious why this board....this community....seems to act in such a cavalier way as to ignore the basics that would seem to be common sense.

Opinions should be interesting....but I'd really love to hear from the people who perpetuate this kind of behavior.
Why they post to someone they don't know should be very informative.

Just sayin'

Or cowardness (word?) or lack of common sense.  It is easy to hide behind a screename or an alias and assume no repercussions for ones actions.  Somewhere along the lies a lot of people started assuming invincibility and bravado behind the mask of the internet.

If I understood you correctly you are asking why when an alias poster or an unknown poster asks for info do so many give the information so freely considering they have no way of knowing who exactly they are giving it to. It could be anyone. A cop, a wife, a neighbor, etc.

There are likely many answers. Some want to be helpful but aren't thinking it through. Some have gotten comfortable and aren't as wary as they once were. It presents a dilemma because everyone was new once and needed help. But what if the questioner has questionable motives? Will the info given unwittingly cause harm rather than help? What about newbie questions on the newbie board?

It's a valid concern you raise. At the very least you remind that we need to gauge carefully what info we give and be aware to not give info that could unbeknownst to us be a problem for someone.

It does seem that many of us are a bit liberal with giving info to folks we have little knowledge of, but there is reason for it: People like to share information about things they truly enjoy.

There are conventions, websites, and various other forms of social networking for many Other Underground (i.e., "It's illegal, so don't get caught") types of Activities. In those forums you'll also find people who offer free advice to strangers who show an interest in those activities. Most of the time the strangers do not stay strangers for long... but you never know.

We, as clients, seem to be very comfortable with ourselves and are especially enthusiastic with our love of this hobby. Face it, what are reviews but sharing information? Though entirely fictional according to the site disclaimer, there are a ton of reviews and many new ones daily.

Likewise, there are also providers who help noob providers.. and let's face it, they're technically competitors to each other. Not so much a mentor or a master to an apprentice type of relationship as much as someone who's "been there, done that" and willing to share experiences. I'll admit that I think most providers are more suspicious than most clients given the consequences for each if something happens.

"We say Have Fun, Play Safe, but Playing Safe is more important than Having Fun." - taught to me from someone in a different hobby of mine.

Too many forget the game their involved in and the consequences that can come with it.

Your first sentence made me think of the monthly different username , usually with one or none reviews, asking which area strip club has the best extras .

To the many chumps who respond it, WTF is wrong with you ? Don't do the badge any favors. You already pay their salary.
