I just called to set up an appointment with a well-reviewed provider from what many on this board have indicated is a highly reputable agency. I am a new client to this agency and called expecting to be screened. Instead, I was only asked my first name, and if I have used them or any other agencies. I have used ER, and told this to the person on the line. I set up an appointment for tomorrow, and was told that I need to call back in the morning to confirm the appointment and that they would call ER "to let them know".
This seems strange to me because how is this agency going to properly screen me? All they have is my first name, and possibly my phone number if they captured it on caller ID. Why would one agency use another for screening clients instead of doing their own screening?
I think it's nice to see agencies cooperating with each other for the common good and safety of each other.
and yes I am sure that they have captured your number via caller ID, it's amazing the info that can be obtained with information as simple as a phone number.
They call the agency. Ask are you a client. Answer: .... Have there been any issues? Answer: ...etc. Also they can check from a phone number as stated by another poster. It's pretty easy.
