Interesting PM question I thought I would share

A hobbiest just read a review of mine where I scored a session really low.  In that review I mentioned several reasons why that session scored a certain way, bit thought the next time it would be better.

The question asked was if I honestly thought I would ever get a next time.

Simple answer was yes.

First, when did a 7 on performance become a bad grade, especially for a young / new provider or for our first date?

Second, I am always pretty clear about why I score up or down a session

Third, the next session, if different enough, will get a new review that replaces the prior one.  Many times ladies get stronger marks once we understand each other

Finally, I always consider if the lady should receive a benefit of doubt review. If we just do not gel, but she does her best to please, a midline score of 7 or 8 feels fair.

I have had a few agencies request I wait on posting until after the make up session, but that just does not seem appropriate, because I do not know when or if I will reschedule, and I do not want time to sway my reaction from the factual representation.

I do receive many PM's asking for clarification or my opinion from gents considering ladies.  I try to provide balanced feedback if asked.  I have noticed several of these same gents later posting reviews on same ladies, sometimes confirming my situation, other times clearly demonstrating totally different outcomes, usually better.  So I think the system works

So guys and ladies, I thought I would throw this out to the crowd.  How do you handle reviews in these situations.  If aim being unfair I can be persuaded.

Ladies, do reviews like this negatively impact you, even though I try to be clear on what worked and did not in that particular session.

Again, welcome your thoughts

a good example of where others place too much importance on a subjective YMMV number and not enough importance on the review writeup itself.

I don't understand why clients are so hung up on a number that has no objectivity or standardization in basis or fact. For instance, at least in competitive ice skating competitions, judges give scores that are predicated on standardized objectives.

I can see how your fair scoring and review can hurt some providers if clients are lazy and simply choose to rely on a subjective YMMV number without taking the time to read your detailed review writeup.

Finally, did you write this post with an iPhone? I see evidence of autocorrection at work.

Plus I was catching up on reviews and pm's at 2am, so I missed a few autocorrections.  Hate to turn off feature, but it can be a PITA some times

the iPhone's antenna signal reception design flaw and it's sporadic autocorrect software, I'd have gotten an iPhone myself.

As it is, I'll hold on to my Blackberry, which has amazing signal reception along with Motorola phones.

I personally don't think that a 7 is a bad score for a lady that is first starting out.  My first few are 7 's and as they progressed I mostly get 8's and 9's now.  I continued to get plenty of calls because I think most hobbyist understand that a provider gets better with experience!

Your experience is your experience and I appreciate your reviews and feedback.

I posted fairly negative review once.  The feedback the lady was expecting was a totally different outcome.  I recognized that while I was factually correct, the sets of the day twisted the response from me to more harsh than needed.  We rescheduled new session, you had clearly coached the girl and new review was positive.  Both were correct reviews, but we both learned from the first attempt.

In this instance, the lady did agree to see me twice and we had grand time and reset the bar.

So I continue to suggest, create honest, factual write ups of specific sessions.  Avoid general meanness unless really called for, and be fair to both parties contribution to the session.  That might be why I can see a lady a second time after an average to negative review and this individual who writes actually very cold / harsh reviews might not have same experience

However, this is probably too methodical to the spell checkers on the board.

I never considered asking a reviewer for clarifications or more information about the provider.

That being said, I do look at the numbers a bit to see if a lady consistently scores high or low, but I am more interested in the overall atmosphere - was she business-like, relaxed, etc.  Not being a high-volume hobbiest, I want to be very selective when I do get the chance to play.  Also, I think sometimes my interests and expectations are somewhat different than others, so a "number" grade is somewhat meaningless.
