It is usually described as a man who enjoys the finer things in life (i.e. spending 150 bucks on a haircut, getting pedicures and manicures, going shopping for shoes), that sort of thing. He is a heterosexual but has homosexual traits. He is not a mans man if you know what I mean. He also definately has to live within the city limits of a major metropolitan area.
I guess a few examples would be any and all actors
Way off base joeether, in a sense. You're right about a man who enjoys the finer things in life, but don't denegrate a man who takes pride in his appearance. I'd first heard the term a few months ago when someone referenced me as being one, and after laughing it off, I had to find out what it was. In the end, I had to agree with most of the "definition". It's not a heterosexual man with homosexual traits ... it IS a man however who goes out of his way to take care of himself, stay abreast of trends, purchase their own clothing, and so on. ( Loved the shoes remark ). The "definition" actually states that it can be a homosexual or heterosexual man. There is a funny part about guys who use "hair products".
As for the "Man's Man" bit - I hunt and fish regularly, am a regular at the best Strip Clubs in the country, play softball, baseball and golf, and have never had a homosexual thought in my life. One of the best compliments I ever had was from a client with whom I've done business with over the course of the last 15 years, when he said "Chicks dig him and guys wanna' hang out with him".
