I don't typically post much. However, I'd like to share my feelings about what I've seen happening to this board of late. There has been too much vitriol going on, and this serves nobody well.
I refer specifically to the supposed threAds of the last few days of a certain poster of some notoriety. I want to ask one question. What's the big fucking deal?! Yes, a certain poster seems to have made some posts that could be construed as threADs. Yes, I am familiar with that member's post that started a hate-fueled feeding frenzy. I agree that the poster stepped way out of bounds, and was put in place by other members. The poster disappeared for a bit, and is now back. Certain members have chosen to point out some things, and the OP has been wise to keep silent so as not to start another shit-storm. Can't we just let that poster continue to post without trashing them? Is this not a discussion board? A topic was posted for discussion, so let's discuss. If you have something positive, informational, or helpful to say, then speak up. If not....Well, my mother always told me that if I have nothing nice to say, then I should say nothing. And as far as a certain poster's supposed threADs, what makes those posts different from any other recent posts that could also be construed as threADs? Any provider who posts anything asking any question at all could be construed as a threAD. It brings attention to her, has a link to her reviews, etc. Lisa's post could be construed as a threAD, yet nobody jumped on her. Maybe, b/c it's no big deal! If TER admin has no problems with the threADS, then why should anyone else? Can we stop spewing hate, and go back to having fun? I'm on the RO board, and I've discovered that those guys are some of the rudest, most asinine people I've ever encountered. I no longer post there, b/c it seems it's their favorite pastime to attack anybody who posts something they don't like. I don't want my home board to suffer the same fate. All this negativity serves no purpose. As a hobbyist, the only thing it tells me, is whom not to see. Well, from a provider's perspective, it could work the same way, telling them whom they may choose not to see as well. Can we stop with the vitriol, live and let live, and just go on with having fun?! Thank you for listening.-- Modified on 4/3/2015 6:06:17 PM
I guess your thread only applies to a select few, as you have done just that recently!Sad how many asshats are on here.
You bring up some good points and like everything else around here everyone is going to have their own take on it. Here's mine...
First, I agree that we should be kind and civil to each other. Especially to the new folks that may not be familiar with our ways, traditions, and inside jokes. I'm the first to admit I cut up way too much but I always try to treat others with respect. Like the saying goes "Everyone's entitled to their opinion no matter how wrong it is".
We all have something to say even though many of us don't particularly want to hear it.
I think of this board as a virtual cocktail party. Some are here to tell jokes, some are here to ask serious questions, some are here to flirt with pretty girls and hook up, and yes some (whether they know it or not) are here to drink too much and make asses of themselves. That's just the bell curve of social interaction. I'd like to live in a world where every post is informative, constructive, and positive. But honestly, wouldn't that make the world a less interesting place? Food fights, train wrecks, BSC meltdowns, and class clowns all make life worth living (and this board worth reading).
I don't like the piling on mentality but usually it only happens when someone has stepped far over the line. It's called a social correction. Yes, it's also called shaming. It's not pretty but does have its place in society.
The important thing to not forget is this is more than a dicussion board - this is a business. Never understimate money as a motivating factor. If we (any of us) sense that someone is trying to game the system (such as posting too many threADs) then our society will exact its own brand of justice. I agree that it isn't always fair handed, but vigilante justice never is. If a girl is gaming the system (and is well aware of it) to get more than her fair share of the spotlight then the other ladies (and gents) will cry foul. And rightly so.
I do agree that we should try to be constructive as much as possible, however if you've already been warned once or twice for an infraction the gloves tend to come off. I believe the particular poster you are referring to already had a couple of run ins with the "law" - such as it is. And consequently you saw folks had a hair trigger and jumped on her. FWIW Lisa has not had any such infraction (that I am aware of) even though her post possibly could have been considered a bit of a threAD.
Just my observation - take it for what it's worth. But I do agree generally we should really try to be kind and patient whenever possible. That's the society I'd like to live in (boring though it may be). LOL

This is a place for me to come and have a good laugh when I'm bored.
That's the spirit!
...one bit if they intend for them to be threADs or if anyone else thinks they are threADs.
participation is what makes this board informative and entertaining.
Exactly, good point !
The board should be fun and informative. At least Atlanta's board is active. Others aren't as lucky. I'm looking at you Alabama. :
and really don't want to as I have been bullied, threatened, and made fun of...through posts and PMs in regards to my posts. I can take a joke and am actually pretty funny I think. And, have a midwestern personality ...However, I do have feelings too and it was not worth it to post and get belittled
I was nervous too, but I don't care. People are always gonna have something to say whether it's good or bad. That's life. No big deal. Picks up a glass of red wine and sips lol.
Yep, exactly! I just would rather drink wine then post.. I am not saying I am too good or anything ... Just know wine always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. A friend I can always depend on to do that! Lol.

The force is the strong with this one....
((Fistbump)) ![]()
Anyone that posts anything in a public space (aka the internet) is opening themselves up to interrogation, criticism, backlash, and general poo-throwing. So if you have sensitive feelings I wouldn't advise it. That's one of the unfortunate downsides of internet discussion groups and how we all wear virtual masks. That tends to bring out the worst in some folks unfortunately.
All that said I'm sorry you feel that way Skylar. No one should be afraid to jump into the discussions around here for fear of being bullied or ridiculed. We should all come in with an attitude of having fun. And FWIW I think you have a great sense of humor. Which actually may not be a ringing endorsement coming from a sick, twisted freak like me. LOL
But then I take them off, er I mean then I realize the inevitable...(sorry that gutter always seems to reel me in)
And, realize I am just never going to be as cool as this...
(Thanks btw, I needed a confidence boost from a sick, twisted, freak... Come on, isn't that every girls dream? ![]()

People should feel free to start a discussion, or voice their opinions without being afraid of being vilified. I love seeing ladies post. Doesn't matter what it is. You can choose to join in the discussion or not.
This thread kind of put a little wind in my "commenting sails" per se. 😉
is dead on. You have all the same elements...even the ones that sit in the corners and don't interact. Everyone finds their place eventually where they are most comfortable.
What about the ones who sit in the corner, but interact under the tables? Mostly in non-verbals ![]()
Yeah and what about the ones that think they're great dancers *but they're really not*
Aren't they just the worst?
Oh, and the ones that drink all your beer but never bring their own. They are the exact opposite of a bull-riding monkey.
than the loud ones in the center of the room!! Haha, meet'cha in the corner, Skylar, or in the coat room.
Yes! I actually sit back and observe to get material for my STAND- up routine...(pun intended) ![]()
I generally won't start a thread unless it's on the General Discussion board. I feel like it's safe to start threads there because I don't have to worry that someone will misinterpret it as a threAD (which is just a terrible thing, apparently lol) , or have it shouted down because I've posted too many times in a week/month or whatever the acceptable thread posting rate is.
There seem to be board darlings and gents that are free to post at their leisure, and their thoughts and their posts are respected, or at the very least, not completely dragged through the mud. It would be really lovely if everyone was given that same level of respect.
I have thoughts and questions that I think are pertinent to this board, but I'm just a bit uncomfortable posting here and that really does it make it a lot less fun for me. The ladies here post for business and for fun.... and for business. So drawing attention to ourselves and painting ourselves in a sexy, lusty light should be expected.
Really great thread topic der441

Again, I say post away and ignore the haters.
Ive definitely have made some posts that were made fun of, but many gals and guys have helped me too.
The positive and helpful responses were appreciated and negative and smart remarks were sometimes funny and entertaining.
Yes, great topic by the OP.
Sometimes it's best to not feed the animals.
You are going to get good and bad comments. The problem many run into is going for tit and tat dialog. If you find yourself going for the 3rd reply on an exchange, I would suggest stepping back and asking if continuing the tread will help your business or change an opinion. Or are you only fueling the frenzy and asking for a pile on.
But then again, as one provider once told me, a good train wreck on the board can be great for business. And she created some amazing train wrecks in her day and enjoyed every one of them
I like Ginger's advice. Put your big girl pants on, but be prepared for an ass slap if you hang it out there
Preach, Brother Advisor! I feel ya!!!!

Although I think the "board darlings" are simply those who have been around long before us. So of course, they have rapport with one another.
Although it is unfortunate that you feel uncomfortable because of their relationship, I don't think that they should be the blame for your uneasiness.
I say stop worrying so much of what the others will say. Post away.
But let's not blame the "board darlings" for your CHOICE of not posting as often as you'd like.
I mean, this is the internet, not the real world.
I just CANNOT understand why some of us have to change our personalities & the way we post just to appease the more sensitive.
Post away.
This topic is wack and definitely NOT thorough. But that is MY opinion. Don't let my opinion or anyone else's discourage you from posting the way you want.
This a PUBLIC board.
Ladies know what a threAD is and when they're doing it. There is an AD board. That's where the advertisements go. Discussion stays on the discussion board. Just don't post your "question" on the discussion board 5 seconds after posting your ad on the ad board and everything should be fine
I agree ThreADs are annoying as crap. What is even worse than that is the "pick me/begging" posts. I completely understand if certain posters keep doing it, how they would get a negative reaction. Be understanding the first few times, but then no more being nice.
At the same time, some are accused of ThreADs and it isn't even an AD. Makes gals not want to post at all.
Some guys are just rude for no reason and other times they are being sarcastic/playing with others. Just do a little dishing back with some humor in it. They will shut up after awhile and start acting nice (well, unless you are Taylor, then they are just never nice). Worked very well for me and now I am shit free ![]()
If a lady comes to TER to post her ad, wouldn't it make sense if she posts what's in her mind on the regional board while she was still there? Well, assuming that the lady is not visiting TER everyday?!
You mentioned that the ladies know threADs when posted. As a provider yourself, I totally understand if you consider the so called ThreAD unfair for the ladies who stick to their ad while others get away with additional ads via threAD. But why am I seeing more of the fuss and complaints coming from hobbyists? Are they being their sisters keepers?, lol
As a hobbyist myself, if the the subject of the so called threAD does not interest me, I will just scroll up or down to other threads. If the subject is interesting and intrigued me to check out the POs Ad, it helps me that the Ad is right there on the first page of the AD Board, which saves me time from searching!
So, how about we set the ladies free? let them post what they feel with out fear of their post being associated with their ad, whether they post it 5 sec or days later. If it is that obvious, I would guess the TER moderators will take some action.
Just a thought
I really don't care if it is intended to be a threAD or not. I don't care if it's perceived as a threAD or not.
I just like it when the ladies participate more often, especially when they initiate the discussion.
My two cents....(again)

Just a curiousity but can a lady post a Friday Shill?
If you paid $x,xxx for an hour of service, would your ego allow you to post a review of anything less than 9, 9?
People like you are the problem.
You don’t like what is being said on an open fuck board and your skin is so, so thin, then should stick to some PC board.
Here is clue, no one is going to listen to your unsolicited advise. People most often doesn’t even listen to solicited advice
