I just respectfully would suggest that....

Online, I almost always use an alias - like here. There are very Rare times and forums where I do use my real name.
As someone once said years ago, "the Hobby is the Hobby."  Same as ladies chose their work names, or at least one agency used to use a poll to have choose a new gals's name (it was fun), I too chose my nom de geurre and have used it often.

My point? I really dislike the use of additional aliases. Use the one alias that you've already created.

If you Really Wanna call a guy or gal out for being.... whatever... Just Do It! You have a certain amount of community credibility to your alias, so use that as part of your argument.  In cases of "She Said/ He Said", the better rep often wins so I do not understand why people don't use it to their advantages more.

Use of a second alias - for me - implies malevolence. An outlet to say something you normally wouldn't. So If I'm WhiteKnight but Babe123 pissed me off (however possible), then creating an Alias of Ogre Troll to vent just doesn't make sense. Just as WhiteKnight says nice things, he should be able to say Babe123 pissed me off by... and be done with it.

A man has two things in this world: his Name (and subsequently his reputation) and his Balls (everything that defines his name).

I agree 100% , say what you mean quit being a keyboard commando and man up. I don't mince words, if I have an opinion on something I share accordingly. If somebody wants to start shit with me, bring it on, but do so under your registered handle otherwise you're just another wuss with no balls or brains.

Another thing that irritates the crap out of me is the apparent inability of people to use the freaking search function...

I really don't take this board too seriously so the double alias thing doesn't
bother me too much although you are right that the alias use usually is
what you had so eloquently said but it is also used for humor.  Whatever,
alias use does foster posting some very negative some not so much.

When ter limited you to one alias plus your regular handle it did serve to
limit the sniper attacks.  There is no limit to the buffoonery here just take it
for what it is.  Also I would rather have the alias then people setting up
multiple accounts and accomplishing the same thing.  BTW I use an alias
that I have kept since the beginning and anybody that knows me knows the
name.

From time to time someone will say how the board has gone to hell,
so negative and mean spirited, but I tell you as someone who has been around for
a while it is exactly how it was when I started in 2005.

I'm very vocal without an alias. I'm not sure if it helps or hurts me. I find myself not caring so much either way. Atleast have the balls to stand up and take it good or bad. However when a lady chooses to spend time with you they know exactly who you are. I guess when there is nothing to hide that's easy

A man's name and his balls are three things that he has in this world :)

Life is too short for posts to be taken seriously. I didn't type this next part earlier but this is what got me started:

There's a mean spirited iPhone app called SECRET.  The catchphrase is "Speak Freely" but it's use is basically cyber-bullying - if you believe in such things. I won't go into further detail but as the name suggests -  it makes Trolling way too easy.

This AM, before I posted originally, a mid-teenage girl I know showed me some comments about her from this SECRET app. Since she is a minor... let's say the comments read like sound bites from the Juicy Details section of a review.

She was clearly upset as these comments were far from true. She then asked me for my opinion as a Man - who could be a father/grandfather/greatgrandfather (lol). Yep, she asked me the Loaded Question, but she's young, so she didn't know better. Why she came to me and not a relative, I don't know but people talk to shrinks and priests and school teachers too.

I told her that "Sticks and Stones may break my bones but Print can be really hard to ignore." I advised her to uninstall the app as it's a gossip board, not even as useful as Twitter. If any of her so-called friends says anything about what's posted on the app, then she should tell them that it's BS (full word) and she'd rather have friends that didn't read such BS. Anything worth saying about her should be said to her face or at least have a genuine name attached to it or be in a reputable source of info if it is in print.  I told her to Unfriend, or just plain ignore those people who just wanna say hurtful stuff.

She thanked me then asked if I had an online name. I said "Sure, several, depending on the online forum." She asked why I didn't use my real name and I replied that it's fun sometimes to act like you're someone else, but regardless of the screen name I try never to say anything I wouldn't say in person as my true name. And so i was inspired to type the OP.

Knowing is half the battle,  ga_kosh
