When a potential client's provider references couldn't be contacted (retired/utr), another client whom I am already familiar with vouched for him. I'm not sure that I would feel comfortable spending time with someone with that type of background, but I would definitely take a reference from a reputable client.
I have a friend who's is considering trying out the hobby. However, his professional background might make it tricky. He used to work as a corrections officer and now has a tame desk job in a probation office. He has no arresting powers. But he and I have had discussions about my experiences in the hobby. I've never disclosed specifics, not because I fear he might do something but because that's an agreement I have, if unspoken, with all agencies and providers. But he seems genuinely intrigued by it all and has said he wouldn't mind trying it. My question is: with his career history, how can he pass the initial screening? Obviously, the background check would raise red flags. Is it possible for a verified client to book on his behalf or be contacted as a reference?

There isn't supposed to be anything in it for me. I'm just trying to help a friend. And considering that I've known the guy since we were kids, I'd consider my risk of arrest fairly low.
