I had a question for everyone today.  I know many guys have separate phones for the hobby.  What about separate Facebook pages?  Is there a secret presence on Facebook of providers and hobbiest?  I created a alias FB profile today, but I'm wondering if that was a bad idea.  However, if the privacy levels are set high enough, it could function as a good way to keep track of favorite providers and fellow hobbiest as an auxiliary to this forum.

Thoughts?

That was my thinking as well.  Don't want it to be too easy for others.  :-/  Just curious how others felt.

I just use my real FB page. I know a few providers "in real life" and we use Facebook, Twitter, texting, etc. as would any other people who know each other would.

However, this is rare in the hobbying community.

Think about it, if a provider does NOT know you "in real life" do you really think she would want you "to keep track of" her?

Stick to answering ads in the provider's suggested fashion-- or use TER PM. If she doesn't *know* you, you aren't "friends"-- Facebook or otherwise.

I have a personal facebook and a provider facebook. The reason I made my provider facebook is because i want my guys to keep up with me.  Some of the things I say are conversation starter when sessions come around, and Im just the type of person who want her clients to know her in a safe way (not super personal stuff ofcourse).  If you go on my facebook you will see that I don't discuss or mention anything about providing.  I just post everyday things that happen outside of providing or whenever Im traveling. I do however have a few sexy pics up. But is facebook a good or bad thing to have, do you need an alias facebook? If your married or have a girlfriend, I say stay away from it as far as providers go cause alias or not women snoop.  Outside of me and a handful of other providers, as far as i know most providers on FB advertise on there page just like they do on BP or Cityvibe, so it could get ugly.  So I say be careful with that.

I started using it as a way to keep in contact with clients. Let me be the first to say I just saw a new friend from facebook yesterday!!!!! I think as long as you continue to stay as safe and discrete with an alternate facebook profile as you normally would with any other sites, you shouldnt have any trouble using facebook either. Its works...try it.....

I agree there are some things we like to keep private from the main-stream.. we do however from strong bonds of friendship over the years and I know I have some guys and gals on there but they know that is friends and family only and to keep it like that ..

They are getting more & more picky on FB about "abuses" & phony pages is a cause for shutting down an account.  It only takes a couple complaints.

I love having an outlet to keep in touch with my special friends through fb and twitter.  From a client perspective, I would think using an private email, and not sharing too much personal info or pics on a special account for following escorts would be sufficient in keeping your other activities private.  Just make sure to also log out of that account from computers others have access to! ;-)

That was my thinking as well.  Just like anything else, it be safe if done properly and carefully.  Glad some other added comments about having work pages.  Makes me think my idea wasn't completely crazy.  I may send out friend requests to the people that responded favorably to this post now.

There are numerous news articles about how L E, gasp the I R S, and the F B I are using Twitter, FB, and Linkedin themselves.

A girl out of NJ was busted several months back for using Twitter.  I used to be on Twitter and got my ass off of there when I saw that happened.

Just too out there for me.

You guys be careful though.

I googled "Law Enforcement uses Twitter" and got a whole bunch of articles.
