She's Asian (and quite awesome, I follow her on Twitter). However I believe she is the only non white winner I've seen since I started in February. Ms TER seems to be determined by a combination of factors that aren't all objective, so I think it's a trend that merits concern and questioning. There are certainly plenty WoC who post on the Photo Only board, are well reviewed, and contribute to the TER community.  

Aside, not a person of color but TS Sasha was given the honor recently. There are many kinds of providers and that diversity should be celebrated.

I assume you mean "Woman of C..." But what is the C?:
Class?
Culture?
Compassion?
Charm?
Chicago?
Canada?
China?
Czech?

So far as I can tell, Ms TER has had at least the first 4 in common, and I think one winner was indeed from Chicago (the city, not the band, lol).

Maybe the OP means C as in Color, but that doesn't matter much to me anymore.  
Porcelain white, Honey brown, Ebony black and all the shades in between - everyone is Colored some shade to some extent. Same goes for my preferences in hair color and eye color.

If Life truly is a story of "It takes all kinds", so why not try to enjoy them all?

C stands for Chocolate.

After all - who doesn't like chocolate? 

There's white chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, bittersweet, semisweet, tropical, exotic, baking, cocoa, honey-dipped, hersheys kisses, liqueur filled, frosted...

I do really enjoy snuggling up with a smooth, rich, delicious piece of dark chocolate from time to time.  

But I agree with foguete that Miss TER is chosen by her photo board "likes".  Maybe we need more "Women of Chocolate" posting their pics to the photo board daily?

So that's three "W of C" along with a TS provider in the less than two years we have had a MS TER. I don't think those numbers are out of line

Yeah, I totally know what you mean.

And when you get that chocolate craving there's just nothing else that will satisfy it.  

Like just a few months ago I had a chocolate craving so bad...  I thought I was gonna go crazy.  So I went out and got a DOUBLE chocolate treat!  It was like...  BAM!!! BAM!!!  Man it was awesome.  I still think about it...

Wait - we are still talking about chocolate, right?

Caucasian - from the Caucasus Mountains of Russia - my family is not Russian.

If you must judge me by my skin tone, I prefer European American since I'm a blend of Scot, Irish, French, German, Dutch, and one paternal grandmother (generations removed) who was called an "Negro Indian".  

So, I'm Native African American - if the 'one drop rule' applies!

I have been called "Cocky" a time or too though.

I'm with you on this one Kosh.  Caucasian is kind of a strange category for many "white" folk.  I'm not offended by it - I just find it wildly inaccurate.  But until they include "Mutt" as a category I suppose it will have to do.  Most folks think I'm Italian when they meet me.  Especially if I've been out in the sun.  So "white" isn't really that accurate for me either at least in pure skin color terms.  I propose a new category - "seasonally white".  

But if we are what we eat then I could very well be Italian as I love me some Italian food!  Of course I could also be a big pussy too I suppose...  I've eaten a lot of that over the years as well
 

In point of fact I am German and Irish with a whole lot of other things thrown into the melting pot.  I even have a smidge of native American (Cherokee) in there too somewhere.  Lord knows what else went into the recipe...  probably extraterrestrial...  Hmmm... wonder if any of my ancestors were abducted?..  

But a German/Irish combo does explain my love for beer, my love for telling stories, my crazy imagination, and the occasional desire to conquer the world.  Ok - wow, just kidding.  Can't a guy make a wildly inappropriate joke about his own kin?

One thing to remember though - if you go far enough back in evolutionary terms we were all bathing in the same gene pool anyway.  Caucasian, mutt, white, whatever...  Just don't call me late for supper.  THAT would make me highly offended.

Funny, my mother and I were talking about this earlier this morning, and she mentioned how "oriental" was actually more accurate than Asian-American. Oriental was always confined to the part of Asia considered the Orient, China, Japan, and pretty much all of SE Asia.  

 Asia OTOH is a very large place and includes such disparate countries as India and Russia. Can you really imagine someone from Eastern Russia or from India self identifying as "Asian-American"???

Kind of like someone from Jamaica being called African-American. I think it's downright offensive and shows just how narrow minded and provincial most Americans seem to be. Especially the PC crowd that gave us the words African-American and Asian-American in the first place. Why would you call someone neither African or American by the term African American?
