Let me say I’m so happy for you. Second, if we’re letting adults purchase alcohol for medicinal and recreational use then based on the body of research I’ve read my opinion is we should treat Mary Jane the same way.
I’m a 2 time cancer survivor and during my last cycle of chemo and radiation in 2015, marijuana helped my way of living.
Chemo is debilitating. And it’s a fact that nutrients, eating and staying hydrated are ways to maintain health, during chemotherapy. marijuana was a lifesaver. I had an appetite and eating gave me energy. zofran helped nausea but the marijuana gave me the munchies so I could supply my body with the nutrients needed. God forbid cancer ever enters my life, again! If it ever does!!!! I’ll be sparking up doobies like Cheech and Chong, immediately!
What are your thoughts on medicinal marijuana and recreational use of it

Those laws would include laws pertaining to drugs, prostitution, seat belts, helmets, the list goes on and on. I am a grown ass adult (a very immature one, granted, but still an adult) and I don't need Mommy Government poking into my bedroom to see who I am fucking, into my car to see if I am wearing a seatbelt, or otherwise treating me like a child.
I am happy to hear you have beaten the big C, and I fully support your right to smoke a joint, or a hundred of them if it helps you deal with it.
For the record, by and large my pot smoking days are well behind me, but if I can have a drink (or a few dozen of them) then who am I to tell someone else that "My vice is less harmful than your vice and your vice should be illegal" Not to mention the fact that pot is LESS harmful than booze in almost every respect.
For a long time I had no issue with it..... if alcohol is legal then pot should be too. We could regulate it, tax it and quit prosecuting victimless crimes. However there have recently been two issues that make me question the stance.
1. My health insurance tripled in cost after ACA was passed. The idea that we would make legal something that potentially could increase our medical costs through treatment centers does not sit well. If a person mefically needs it im fine with that but there are far too many people that "need" their pot cards in California. Many years ago my grandfather was encouraged by doctors to smoke pall mall unfiltered cigarettes for pain after a surgery.... hindsight tells me that was not sound advice. Having both parents die of cancer though I would have rolled a joint for them in the hospital if I could have.
2. A friend from Colorado was telling me she had quit drinking, she just eats a couple gummies and grabs a bottle of water. If we make it legal at least don't make it look like candy. I'm old enough to remember rolling candy cigarettes up in my sleeve to look like the cool kids
Legalization is coming. I won't go in to the politics so your post stays in Atlanta where you wanted it addressed.
I have a very positive story too; but you are my hero! You are a survivor! You have been to hell and back and yes I believe marijuana has medicinal properties that have been untapped. It is ludicrous that it is still a schedule 1 on Federal level that will not allow for studies of any medical benefits. But states are saying fuck this! Who is this fucking government that wants to tell us how to handle suffering, sickness, and death when it's our time! The voters have decided and 64% of American voters support marijuana either medically and/or recreationally.
Marijuana is up 333% with seniors Marijuana is up 24% with ages 45-55 Marijuana is down 10% with young adults
Thanks baby cakes! I read this as if you were screaming into a bullhorn. I got a little teary! I’m not a hero I’m just thankful for health. Now if I could get my Deviant nature under control , life would be great! Lol. I agree with u tho. Legalization is coming !
Dr. William Li gave a TED presentation on how to beat cancer by starving it. You should avoid eating angiogenesis promoting foods like they’re poison, and eat angiogenesis inhibiting foods to starve cancers before they take root. Hope the attached link helps you.
I am an epileptic and have been smoking medical Mary for 3 years. Up home I had a prescription I do not here but I have been seizure free since day 1 3 years. They put me on seizure meds that made me a zombie and caused horrible n some permanent side effects. I am blessed this has helped..I am also a nurse by trade and recommend and condone the use of medical marijuana as I'm proof..
