The next time I hear someone, anyone complain about not having this or that in the new year, I think I will gag. Providers or hobbyists, it's as simple as understanding leverage and then finding ways of getting off our pathetic butts and doing something about it. The suppliers understand this concept all too well (banks, insurers, agencies, lol). To get more out of life, you have to leverage money, people, or time. In my own life, I have committed to using two of them alot better in '05. So since most of you are not famous entertainers, or rich athletes, or know the likes of Bill Gate$, get out there starting 1/03/05 and kick some ass and live the kind of life you think you deserve. It's not a lot of difference between someone who makes $6.50 an hour and $300.00 if you know what to do with it. I dare say most of you who participate in the hobby have pissed more of it away than you care to admit. So don't complain this time next year if you are having to plan on the same old grind as last because you have the CHOICE here to do great things from this point forward or stick your head in the porcelin god and call for Earl.

Sorry fellow traveler if this message disturbs you. What you don't know is that I can own your mortgage and all your assets by the end of the day better, I have known many Kyosakis, Sheets etc. and many live in this town. What I have now is leverage and that's why they invite me to their functions. As far as the ladies, I have passed along a tip or two and one person in particular has made out quite well. The money I make in the hobby, I make every day the market is open. I just made $3000 on a short-term trade that I held for 10 days. That's leverage.

Obviously you have never worked for $6.50 an hour. To say there is not much difference between making $6.50 and $300 an hour shows what an out of touch pompous ass you are!!!

these discussions out of this board will be a good thing to do.

If one is so compelled to discuss these things, there several discussion groups in Yahoo dedicated to these kind of things.

It is also good to remember: "The taller you stand, the harder you fall"

and

Being humble is a virtue and being an ass is just an ass (OK I made this one up)

how people with real money don't feel obligated to crow about it. It's the wannabees that have to brag about every little success, either real or imagined.

Reminds me of a story about my Dad. He is very well off He was in a shoe store and was looking at a pair of Alligator shoes. He asked the price and the salesman told him and added you probably can't afford them. Dad was not a snappy dresser He responed " you're probably right". He could have bought and sold that company. The men of that greatest generation were humble not arrogant like the tech brokers of the 90's. Dad is still with us. I built my company with his knowledge not his money. Sorry, just my rant.

You may want to find her yourself.

Her and that entire bunch are off my radar and have been for some time.  No idea who you are but your inquiries should go to someone who cares about her.

What a bunch of self-gratuitous horseshit!

NO ONE makes money "every day the market is open".

You can pretty much assume that hobbyists are all firmly in the middle class anyway.  It should be obvious why, but I'll explain it just because I'm not sure that "smart guy" here knows much about money or pussy either for that matter.

A poor man doesn't have the money to pay $$$, and a rich man does not have to pay for pussy at all - he just has to flaunt his money.

It appears that you are satisfied where you are at and that's fine. But until you open your closed mind then you will never understand that people DO make money every day (and lose it too) as often as the ticker rolls. Ask somebody, before you remove all doubt about what is obvious to many. Success is a matter of how you it or yourself. If I were rich, you are absolutely correct, I'd need only to flaunt it. But I am smarter than that and if you are unhappy with the intent of the message the so be it. Name calling is beneath all of us but if you need to.. Go for it.

Yes, I can tell you all about it.

People that actually make money in the market will tell you that Rule number 1 is not to lose money - which means you stay out of the market on choppy days because you cannot make money on long or short trades.

What else would you like to know?

Stochastics, MACD, Relative Strength Index.  Divergence.  All useful.  Candlesticks - basically useless mumbo jumbo.  Moving averages - too slow to be useful indicators for day trades.

You have to maintain 25K minimum to execute more than 4 daytrades in a rolling 5day period, many brokers require you to have 50K to give you margin to trade shorts.  Not every stock is available to be shorted, etc.

I made a living at it working from home last year.  A living, not a fortune.

And I'm still not impressed by people who like to talk about how much money they make.

PS:  And last time I checked, you were not on my invitation list ...

I don't think he'd know a level two screen if it jumped up and bit him, much less recognize who was the axe in a particular stock, or even know what I was talking about. I started SOES trading in 1997 and its hilarious how many people think that they are daytraders that don't have a clue. BTW et al means "and others" I really don't know how that sentence makes any sense.

Actually, you don't have to maintain 25k to daytrade. Call your broker, dumbass. What you have to maintain 25k for, is to have full margin (usually 4x) access. With less than that, you still have access to 2x cash balance in margin, and shorts are still available. As everyone else would say, rtfm.

Hey...took a while with all the financial mumbo-jumbo, but I think I see it.

Is it like when you drop the name of someome you haven't a clue about, like Lexi T., to get leverage with Brook and Brook goes ewwwww cause she can't stand her, then you try to back out of it?

One always hears about the $3000.00, or $10,000 short term gains, but isn't it odd that we never hear about the $5000.00 or $30,000 short term loses.  Also, again as an active trader myself, I'm savy enough to know that its the long term that is going to make money, not the short term.  And, to be honest, $3000.00 isn't that big of a gain, and, I'll be damned if I would have taken any kind of gain so close to the end of the year.  No sense in giving a percentage of it to the government, especially given that short term gains are taxed more heavily than long term gains, and since we are talking 'leverage' here, it would have made much more sense to take that gain after the first of the year so that one would have longer to use that,, uh,, ummm,, $3000.00 to further leverage their,, uhh,, leverage.

Cheers

Bill
