Seeking information. No PM. Maybe some of the Agencies would have more readily available experience? What should a lady expect to pay for photos, for the purposes of marketing, either as she joins the agency or decides to remain independant? Does she retain the rights to the photos?
If you decide to go with an agency, they should pay for and set up your photo shoot. However, they will retain the copyrights to all the photos. Some agency owners will allow you to buy them from them though. As an independent, you of course pay for your own shoot and will own your photos. If you do it independently, I will tell you it is worth investing in hair, nails, and a makeup artist - it will make all the difference!
Photographer rates vary so widely, you can probably find one for around $75, or as much as several hundred dollars. You probably want to find one somewhere in the middle though, you will get what you pay for. If you like, I can refer you to someone who is very good, he does lots of shoots for lots of girls in Atlanta and is pretty reasonable.
