It seems to work for politicians and corporations -- any mention of their name and recent activity brings more recognition and, as any marketer knows, name recognition is key to new business (new is the key, repeat business doesn't follow the same path).

I most often do my research, but have been known to miss the mark.  You'll see that a lot of reviews will include YMMV, but I've found that it seldom does.  I don't know why, but often photos will skew a TBTBT (too bad to be true) review or reviews.  

I, too, am guilty of writing reviews with the most favorable slant positive.  I never say things that are untrue, but I sometimes choose to leave out details that may be seen a negative.  Just a kind-hearted guy I suppose.

And why do guys continue to see them? Is it possibly due to the fact that some guys aren't VIP's and just notice that they have lots of reviews? Or are there guys that just enjoy seeing for themselves and thinking that their meeting will be different. Why would you go see a provider that has multiple 6' for looks and 5 to 6's for performance when we have so many wonderful 8 to 10's to select from, here in Atlanta. I'm just amazed every time I see a reviews link on a providers advertisement that takes me to pages of poor reviews, seems like they are proud of these scores...WTF?

So providers have to pay for VIP status as well? If so I didn't know that, but surely with some of the low scores that I have seen they can't think that their "performance" would get them a 9 or 10! I'm certainly not going to give a link to a potential customer of mine when I know it says nothing nice about my company! After all this is a business for the lady's, all I can say is BUY VIP or get burned!!!

With TER, there really is no reason not to see only 8 or above ladies, unless you are TOFTT.  The TER link adds some credibility, possibly some ad links, and like you said some are just too lazy.

Not a recent problem, but when reviews would take a week to post, you could have several poor reviews pop up on a single day, but that's not much of a problem lately.

Most guys who read those ads aren't VIPs so they don't see the ratings.   Those that probably hit the link to this website (very few) likely look to see there are merely reviews.

I used to wonder about this same thing. There were a few notoriously bad providers who constantly advertised that guys should check out their reviews.  I finally came to the conclusion that it just doesn't matter.  There are always enough lazy guys out there who won't take the time to check tineye.com to see if the pictures are fake. They won't take the time to read reviews.  They won't turn around at the door when the girl who opens is obviously NOT the one in the photographs.  These girls live on the one-time client, and frequently move from city to city, or change their names and phone numbers once a month, because there are enough "non-educated consumers" out there to make these girls a decent living.

Sad for the rest of us, as we'd all like to see the bad ones just go away.  But it is indeed the lazy guys that keep them in business.

I tend to lean the same way you do, I spend a lot of time researching who I'll see before I ever make the leap. And I prefer not to be negative in my reviews, but I am honest about our time together. But because I put in the time with research I'm usually with a woman that is a good fit for what I want in a session. It's still amazing to click on a link that says "Great Reviews" and see 5&6's. There are so many wonderful ladies in the Atlanta area to see, if you just put in a little effort before hand.

Yes we ladies have to pay for VIP, (we can't write reviews to obtain VIP)  But we can read all our own reviews even without VIP.....

Yes on Cityvibe and on their personel web sites, and if these ladies can read their reviews on TER without paying for VIP it really doesn't make sense! As a business owner myself, if I knew that say Kudzo.com had bad reviews of my company I dam sure wouldn't put a link to that site bragging about them. Also thank you Fallon for responding to my in search of in Biloxi, as I had already made arrangements with two wonderful ladies, perhaps a meeting with you on my next visit!

In my experience there's usually two big reasons that the ladies post links to average reviews and the guys still flock to them: price point and guys that are just looking for a nut (both categories that ive previously fallen into). First off, how many of these highly reviewed ladies offer a qk special or a half hour for a C-note? Let's not kid ourselves, just like every other industry, the majority of this "community" is skewed towards the lower price point end. I think a lot of us here on TER seem to think that everyone's paying around $250-400/hr when in fact, the vast majority of all the appointments made are probably less $100. So while those scores may seem low for the types of ladies TER members are used to frequenting, they're pretty much par for course or even above average for the rest of the community. And sometimes guys just want to get in and get out and don't really care about the ambiance or "experience" or making a connection. And don't forget that while I think it's safe to say that most of us here are looking for more GFE experiences at a minimum, most guys couldn't care less.
