A man, possibly feeling guilty about his escapades, went to confession on a Saturday morning. "Forgive me Father, for I have sinned, and during this past week I have had sexual encounters with 2 different married women from our congregation", he went on and explained.
"Who did you have these encounters with?" asked the father.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot tell you" said the man.
"I need to know so I can pray for their souls, was it Mrs. Smith?" "No", said the man.
"Was it Mrs. Jones?" asked the priest. "Mrs. Nelson?". "No it wasn't either of those women" answered the man. "And I can't tell you who it was".
After several attempts at this the priest decided that the man wasn't going to tell who he had been with, and the confession came to an end.
Later that afternoon, the man who had gone to confession and a friend of his were walking across the golf course on their way to the first tee. "How is everything going?" asked the friend.
"Just GREAT! I went to confession this morning and I got several new leads..."
