I suspect the false profiles are much higher. With people becoming more aware of internet crimes and the psychos that thrive on weak and unsuspecting people.
Any married man that doesn't want to get caught will lie about certain aspects in the profile. How do I know this? I played around with the online dating thing and then decided I didn't want another relationship. I just wanted to get laid, have some discreet female companionship, and then we both go on our merry ways.

As a married guy, I use a different email and screen name from my regular account. I never hide the fact that I am married, and that doesn't seem to be a problem to some of the non-providers I have talked with and even met.
